Suddenly Moderated?

In posting today I have noticed that my posts are being moderated. May I ask the reason for this? Just kind of confused.

In posting today I have noticed that my posts are being moderated. May I ask the reason for this? Just kind of confused.

This board has always been moderated. The moderators review all posts and topics for any rule violations and approve all posts that don't break those rules. During the past 24 hours, for example, several spammers were banned and more than a dozen spam posts were deleted. The main reason we moderate this board is to stop spamming, which, if we did not do, would greatly diminish each user's experience here.

We did recently change the method of moderation here, so you may notice a slight difference.

Take care,

Scott

Thanks for posting this! I was curious too... all of a sudden I was getting this message of "A moderator will preview your post" every time I wrote something, and I was thinking "OMG, what did I do??"

Somebody would tell you if you something were wrong. :)

It may take longer for your posts to get approved as we all get used to this system, please don't take it personally, we're trying to figure things out too. :)

We are still fine-tuning the changes to the moderation methods. All of us are in North America, so there there is a period when we tend to all be asleep. Posts made during that time may experience longer delays than usual before being approved.

I was wondering exactly the same thing. I thought "Oh my what did I say?" I also notice a "watch status" at the bottom of my name... what does that mean?

Thanks for your help.

The 'warn status' bar under your name would show you if you had been warned for any rule violations. You would also receive a PM explaining everything. BUT, you have no warnings. :P The bar is only visible to you and the moderators. Everyone has one, but you only see yours.

Ohhhh thank you so much for your reply. At 60 years old and having been on the Internet in chat rooms and on forums for many many years, I have never felt as awkward as I did when I received the moderator notice and warn status... thought I did something wrong. I appreciate your answer and explanation.

We're pretty anti-spam here. I know it's a bit of a hassle for new members, but then, you don't log on and see 15 tennis shoe posts either...

HEheeheeha oh my, first thing I did today was try to figure out how to get rid of the warn status thingy. Sometimes I'm a cranky poster, mostly when glutened.

Scott Adams Grand Master

If you ever did get a warning only you and the moderators would be able to see your warnings, other members cannot.

Take care,

Scott

Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.

That sounds so very likely in my case! I will absolutely ask my doctor on my next bone check coming up in March... Thanks a lot!

Calcium levels as measured in the blood can be quite deceiving as the body will rob calcium from the bones to meet demands for it by other bodily functions. Also, supplementing with calcium can be counterproductive as it tends to raise gut pH and decrease absorption. More often than not, the problem is poor absorption to begin with rather than deficiency of intake amounts in the diet. Calcium needs an acidic environment to be absorbed. This is why so many people on PPIs develop osteoporosis. The PPIs raise gut pH. And some people have high gut PH for other reasons. Low pH equates to a more acidic environment whereas high pH equates to a more basic (less acidic) environment.

Kind thanks for all this valuable information! Since my Folate was/is low and also my Calcium, there IS a chance I am low in B vitamins... My doctor only measured the first two, oh and Zinc as I has twisted her arm and guess what, that was mega low too. So who knows, until I get myself tested properly, what else I am deficient in... I did a hair mineral test recently and it said to avoid All sources of Calcium. But this is confusing for me as my Ca is so low and I have osteoporosis because of this. It is my Adjusted Ca that is on the higher side and shouldn't be. So am not sure why the mineral test showed high Ca (well, it was medium in the test but relative to my lowish Magnesium, also via hair sample, it was high I was told). But anyway, thanks again for the VitB download, I will look into this most certainly!

Hello good afternoon, I was wondering if anyone has ever brought their anti-allergy pills? I have been wanting to use their Cetirizine HCI 10mg. They are called HealthA2Z and distributed by Allegiant Health.I’m also Asthmatic and these allergies are terrible for me but I also want to be sure they don’t have any sort of gluten compound.    I have tried calling them but to no avail. Has anyone ever used them? If so, did you had any problems or no problems at all?    thank you
