I was just over babysitting and my daughter got home and was going to make PB&Js for the kiddos.

I was on the sofa, she was in the kitchen. She comes out with white bread and goes, "is this bread bad? It smells like whiskey" I go, "is there mold on it it?" "No, it just smells funny."

So she puts it up to my face and I smell it and it smells like whiskey, and I go, "no, that's done turned, don't use it".

Before she could walk back into the kitchen, the right side of my face starting itching and burning. So I'm scratching it, not thinking anything of it. So I go and look in the mirror and I have this gigantic WELP on my face in the exact place the bread touched it!

You mean to tell me I can't TOUCH gluten? Come on now! I want to ask you all if this is possible, but it's right here on my FACE so it's possible.

Have any of y'all had reactions like that? I mean, with the tape at the hospital, that was one thing, but a piece of bread on my face for 2 seconds gives me welps?

I tell ya the truth, I am just absolutely dumbfounded by this one.

The things you get into! Maybe it's the mold or bacteria that made the bread smell bad reacting with your skin. Good thing the kids didn't eat it. Hope your face is better quick!

It wouldn't hurt to be allergy tested. One can be both wheat allergic and have gluten intolerance or celiac disease.

funny you said that, because we've been talking about getting me allergy tested, but it seems to be expensive and hard to "get at" around here.

When I told my mom, she goes, "Well, there's your wheat skin allergy test - you just saved yourself a lot of time trouble and money."

I've read many a post on here of people needing makeup, shampoo, etc that's gluten-free because of such things! I am not bothered that badly....yet, lol. I never even KNEW stuff like that had gluten in it! Bless your heart....a true allergy could be an issue for you.

I was thinking the same thing--there was a girl who used to post here a few years ago who was Celiac and allergic to wheat.

You should definitely get an allergy test for wheat. You might also consider testing for mold allergies. Some molds are very toxic, but not everyone reacts the same. If you have mold in your house it can make you very sick to the point of having neuro problems like some of the things you have shared on this board.

One of my co-workers is Celiac and allergic to wheat. We cannot make playdoh in the room because she'll have major issues and need to go to the hospital, and that's just from some of the flour sneezed on by a child and the flour poofs everywhere. She can't clean up after the playdough. If we do paper mache it has to be mixed elsewhere then brought in and she stays on the other side of the room while we do it. So yeah, I'd say your allergy test is positive.

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
