Hey everyone. So, I love the Bell & Evans gluten-free chicken tenders however I find them much too expensive (around $8 for a box of, maybe 5, tenders) so I rarely get them. I was at Costco the other day and they had a 3.25 lb bag of Bell & Evans gluten-free chicken tenders for $13.99. I was so excited and thought if anyone else were a Costco member it might be worth it to go out and pick up a bag or two!

Do you know if they have dairy or egg in them?

I assume this is in the US? I find costco in Canada pretty lame for gluten-free products..they do sell larabars, but that's it really..and of course, things that are naturally gluten free.

I LOVE our Costco. They have gobs of gluten free things (US). In fact they recently had an article all about gluten free in their monthly magazine. I buy SO many products there. Quinoa, corn tortillas, refried beans, their frozen taquitos, chicken meatballs, smoked shredded pork, sliced fajita beef, their broasted chicken is gluten-free!!, lunchmeat like pastrami and chicken all labeled gluten-free, hummus, ice cream bars and popsicles, sausage, brats, cooked frozen brown rice blend (so quick and easy!), flax!!, larabars, chips!! (they have at least 4 varieties of gluten free chips, tortilla chips, a yummy new grain and seed chip I love, a rice and been chip, rice chips), also they have rice crackers!! OKay I know there are more things I regularly buy there, but I have found Costco to be the ONE store I can count on to carry LOTS and LOTS of gluten-free foods for my family!

I'll have to check for the chicken tenders next time! Thanks!

someone told me their shampoo, conditioner and body wash (kirkland brand) is gluten-free too.

I find Costco to be AWESOME....and I am in Canada.

I buy a variety of gluten free sausage (chorizo, bratwurst, and more) - including hot dogs. I used to buy Topdogs in the local grocery store but now they have wheat starch.

I can also get (all labelled gluten-free)...

Riceworks chips

Nature bars

Quinoa

Brown rice

Sliced ham

Chicken burgers

Vitamins - Kirkland are mostly labelled gluten-free

GOOD rice crackers - Crunchmaster multigrain

...I'm sure there is more !

How funny...I was just at Costco yesterday! They have a bunch of gluten-free items and it is awesome when you can find gluten-free stuff in bulk!!! My typical finds:

Rice

gluten-free chicken broth

Shredded pork

Sweet baby Rays BBQ sauce

tortilla chips

various cheese

fruit

milk

eggs

m&m's

pesto

nuts

popcorn

rotisserie chicken

hot dogs

I found some yogurt but I'm not sure about it yet since it lists modified food starch but I'm going to contact the company and see. I'm crossing my fingers that it is safe to give the boys since they LOVE yogurt and this was so inexpensive.

I have tried the Bell & Evans gluten-free chicken tenders twice. Both times I started feeling sick right away. Reading the ingredients closely the second time I read it is processed in the same facility as wheat ingredients. Has anyone else had a problem with this? They sure do taste good, but I am not willing to try them again.

      Hi,  My name is Julie and I am new to the forum.  I have been diagnosed with Celiac disease since 2006.  I follow a strict gluten free diet. In July I was diagnosed with oral thrush.  I had swollen lips, and my tongue was very red towards the front.  I also had a weird taste in my mouth and very dry mouth despite drinking lots of fluids.  I went to Urgent care and was prescribed fluconazole oral tablets for 5 days and it essentially cleared up.  Has anyone else had this happen?  It was so strange.  The doctor thought the thrush was from my mouth guard I wear at night.  Although my cleaning process had not changed. Also today I noticed an abnormal red spot on my tongue.  No other symptoms.  I will be calling my dentist.  But am curious if anyone has had trouble with yeast in their gut. Thanks Julie

      Makes me wonder if it has something to do with the fact that the protein avenin in oats triggers a gluten-like reaction in some celiacs and that this stricter standard for oat products is concession to those people making noise on that basis.

      Yes, but what has really happened is that companies just removed "gluten-free" from their packaging, as General Mills has done for Canadian Cheerios. Why they would allow a 20ppm for gluten-free in other foods and only set this higher level for oats is very odd, and no other countries do this.

      That "gut ache" after drinking may be more than alcohol not agreeing with a gut that's trying to heal. Alcohol prevents absorption of vitamins, and actually breaks thiamine Vitamin B 1 so it cannot function.  Thiamine deficiency can cause Gastrointestinal Beriberi, with symptoms of digestive upsets and abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, and can cause neurological problems and problems with thinking and judgement.  I've experienced Gastrointestinal Beriberi myself.  Thiamine supplementation is a must, along with the other B vitamins and Vitamin C.   Gastrointestinal Beriberi and Wernicke's Encephalopathy Triggered by One Session of Heavy Drinking https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31543793/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6739701/

      Yeah I think my body is definitely telling me to lay off the alcohol I just don’t seem to agree with it right now but that might be because my gut is still trying to heal.
