I Broke Up With Jimmy John

I just had another Jimmy John's lettuce wrap sandwich. It was wonderful.

Now i can tell I've been glutened. The floor feels wobbly, I feel sweaty, I am hyper senstive to everything around me and my neck hurts and I have a headache.

So, I take back my endorsement.

I just feel like cussin a blue streak.

I was feeling fantastic.

Oh, bummer. I totally feel for you. I ate at a Greek joint last night that my friends really love. I had salmon salad, asked a bunch of questions about the marinade on the salmon and was assured it was olive oil, lemon, salt, pepper, onions, and garlic. The salmon came and it was red with paprika. I prayed the waitress had understood "wheat allergy" and there weren't any other ingredients they had failed to mention.

No big GI reaction but I got up this morning so tired I could barely move and my head hurts, which is unusual. Pretty sure I got glutened. I have a ton of work to do and this is such bad timing. :(

 = cuss word of your choice.

See now that just  me off. If the  salmon had  paprika on it, why the  didn't she  tell you THAT?

What's on the salmon? " no gluten and no gluten and no gluten and no gluten

and them some maybe gluten that I didn't think was gluten".

If a customer asks for ingredients, they oughta give all the ingredients. This just  me off to no  end.

You and me both! And I love  for cusswords. I had no problem filling in the blanks!

Now my stomach hurts. It's  gluten for sure. Maybe just CC from cooking the salmon...who knows but I'm sick.

Connie dear, it's all for the best. You know he was bound to cheat on you with his girlfriend Gluten. Afterall, they were long time lovers before you came on the scene. You should have known he wasn't going to leave her for you. He was just playing with you. Never trust a man (er um sandwich?) with a last name that is slang for toilet :P

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
