Always Moderated?

Will my posts be forever moderated before they are posted? Or at a certain level do they skip that?

Will my posts be forever moderated before they are posted? Or at a certain level do they skip that?

At a certain point, new members' posts will no longer be moderated. All topics on this board, however, are subject to approval by a moderator. This helps greatly to quickly eliminate spammers.

I have never seen this before but it seems a good idea that all posts are checked out.

At a certain point, new members' posts will no longer be moderated. All topics on this board, however, are subject to approval by a moderator. This helps greatly to quickly eliminate spammers.

When do I reach that certain point? I have noticed that it is relatively quick that posts get approved by a moderater, but it is a bit frustrating when you have something that you want to be seen right when you post it.

I know it's frustrating at first, but you have to remember questions that are appropriate to a message board pretty much have to be things where you can wait for an answer. Someone with the info you need may not stop by for a day or two. If you're answering someone, they're not likely checking their threads immediately either.

Yeah I was just speaking hypothetically, I'm used to forum posting. But thanks for the reminder tip. I'm actually quite patient...for the most part.

PS I think that certain point is 10... I just posted a post and don't have to have it moderated... For those who are curious in the future.

I gotta say, I was just about to make a similar post.

Personally, I find the pre moderation rather frustrating. It takes away the dynamics of a forum.

I run a forum with 2 million members and am admin at another with 4 million posts. So I do understand the issues with spammers. BUT a good moderating team, can surely handle that? Rather than pre approving all posts, simply delete the spam. That way it doesn't take away from our Experience.

Sometimes members will want answers asap, but have to wait until their post is approved before they have a chance in receiving a response.

Even if there were a veteran group, that were allowed to post without moderation it would be something? Surely after say 50 genuine posts, we've proven we're not spammers? I'd like to think so. Obviously spammers won't reach 50 posts, as their posts will never be approved.

Anyway thanks for listening and for an otherwise great resource.

Paul~ You got some points. Although, I cant imagine it bein too much a hindrance for members, as it is only ten posts that have to be moderated. And look you are almost there. Besides I think its a good idea in a lot of ways because then you dont need to worry about makin a fool of yourself if you make a spammy post, or break a rule or two, and the admins can catch it right away. I am certain that the admins would help you should you ever find yerself with a post that never got approved.

Also like was mentioned before, if you need somethin answered, it makes no difference if you need to wait five minutes for a post to be approved, as this is a forum that caters to all over the world. It often will take at least a day before you get your first answer anyway. And I did notice that there is almost always a moderator on to approve posts, so I can almost guarantee you will never need to wait long for an approval.

Anyway, welcome to the forum!

The mods don't get to make the rules around here. I think we do a pretty good job of approving the posts quickly, and the moderation period for a new member is such a short time, comparatively speaking. I personally believe that it works around here. By the time I go to bed someone is waking up in Eastern Canada :P There are occasionally some slow times during the day when a post may languish for an hour, but not much longer. We do all have lives after all and our efforts are all volunteer. And all posts are addressed. If a post is deemed unacceptable for some reason the poster is given an opportunity to comply with the rules, and perhaps a warning. Blatant spammers are not given any leeway, nor do they deserve any.

Actually I was happy to see my first few posts moderated. To me it was a sign that the forum administrators cared enough about who was posting that they were willing to take the time to review all the new messages.

      Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.

      Calcium levels as measured in the blood can be quite deceiving as the body will rob calcium from the bones to meet demands for it by other bodily functions. Also, supplementing with calcium can be counterproductive as it tends to raise gut pH and decrease absorption. More often than not, the problem is poor absorption to begin with rather than deficiency of intake amounts in the diet. Calcium needs an acidic environment to be absorbed. This is why so many people on PPIs develop osteoporosis. The PPIs raise gut pH. And some people have high gut PH for other reasons. Low pH equates to a more acidic environment whereas high pH equates to a more basic (less acidic) environment.

      Kind thanks for all this valuable information! Since my Folate was/is low and also my Calcium, there IS a chance I am low in B vitamins... My doctor only measured the first two, oh and Zinc as I has twisted her arm and guess what, that was mega low too. So who knows, until I get myself tested properly, what else I am deficient in... I did a hair mineral test recently and it said to avoid All sources of Calcium. But this is confusing for me as my Ca is so low and I have osteoporosis because of this. It is my Adjusted Ca that is on the higher side and shouldn't be. So am not sure why the mineral test showed high Ca (well, it was medium in the test but relative to my lowish Magnesium, also via hair sample, it was high I was told). But anyway, thanks again for the VitB download, I will look into this most certainly!

      Hello good afternoon, I was wondering if anyone has ever brought their anti-allergy pills? I have been wanting to use their Cetirizine HCI 10mg. They are called HealthA2Z and distributed by Allegiant Health.I’m also Asthmatic and these allergies are terrible for me but I also want to be sure they don’t have any sort of gluten compound.    I have tried calling them but to no avail. Has anyone ever used them? If so, did you had any problems or no problems at all?    thank you
