Angular Chellitis Or Growing White Spots Anyone?

Anyone with diagnosed celiac get these annoying corner of mouth cracks? I have had them before sometimes when I diet, sometimes not and don't know if its the gluten free diet doing it again or is it some celiac thing? Does gluten free diet not have enought vitamins? I eat plenty of veg, fruits and nuts, meats, rice, etc...One of my docs once said it was a vit def, so I always take vit and it goes away eventually. Just wondering if any of you suffer from this.

Also have a growing bright white spot on my leg, don't know what it is, just noticed it when we went to the football game and I went to put suncreen on. Maybe vitiligo? Have other spots too.

Another question, does anyone out there get crazy hypoglycemic episodes? I noticed while on the gluten diet I did not get any, but have had them so many times before that I always carry a snack on hand. Is it just the diet or is that some celiac thing? It usually happens after I have eaten one meal in between meals. I call them hunger shakes, but its more than that, its a full body sweat, heart racing, feeling out of it, shaky and very desperate. Once I did take by blood sugar after I had orange juice during an episode and it was 58. Pretty sure that's not normal. No doc has been able to help me with it or explain it, except say, stay away from sugary foods and always have a snack on you.

the cracks at the corners of your mouth a likely from a def. of one of the B vitamins, riboflavin i think, so a good gluten free B complex might be a good idea

Can't speak to the white spot, that definitely sounds like something you should get a doc to look at.

As far as the mouth cracks and hypoglycemia those two used to be things I would constantly experience before going gluten free. My fits of hypoglycemia were so bad that I would have difficulties doing any sort of interstate driving because I knew that my mind would start shutting off unless I had constant access to nutrients. My brain would simply shut off any could only think about acquiring more food if I went longer than an hour or two in between meals. I've stress tested this since going gluten free to see just how long I can wait between meals before having my mind and body start shutting down and I actually can't get my body to go into that state at all!

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
