Gluten Eating Nightmare

Googles Community Regular

I had a nightmare the other night that I ate Nacho Doritos accidentally. When I realized what I was doing I tried to take all of the chips out of my mouth (to try and reduce the gluten-don't know if this would actually do anything) and there just kept being more and more chips. I couldn't get rid of them all. It was so awful. Not to mention that in my dream it was graduation day and so I was going to miss graduation. Do other people have nightmares about this? I feel like when I first started wearing glasses and I started wearing them in my dreams. That somehow it has permeated enough to enter my dreams. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I can't be free of gluten even when I sleep.

Yes, but the regular version is that you

A. Slept through the graduation ceremony

B. Slept through the final exam

C. Couldn't find the room to take the final exam. Didn't have #2 pencil, black ink pen....

D. Missed the job interview

It's a very typical anxiety dream. ;)

A few weeks ago, I dreamed someone asked me to buy Girl Scout cookies, and I burst into tears realizing I could never have peanut butter tagalongs again. :( Celiac sucks sometimes!

I had a dream that, I got kidnapped and the dude brought me a cheeseburger and I couldn't eat it. I didn't eat it for like 4 days. Finally I was so hungry that I had to just eat it consequences notwithstanding. I blame watching Dexter before bed LOL

Too bad those kidnappers couldn't be nice enough to provide you with gluten free food while they were keeping you captive. So inconsiderate of them.

I was sad when I realized I wouldn't be able to eat girl scout cookies again. I sold them as a kid. Tagalongs were my favorite.

I have just recently been diagnosed. I have been reading a lot of information, usually before bedtime. I keep having these dreams of ingredient words in bubbles and flying all around me...in attack mode. So much information to take in!

I KNOW, RIGHT?!?! Geesh if you're going to kidnap me, at least give me food I can eat or it's going to get messy!

I haven't had a gluten dream but I'm right with everyone else about the cookies. :( I miss frozen thin mints.

Ahhh, but you can have resees peanut butter cups. I bet there is a gluten free cookie that can be paired with that for something just as good.

I spent a morning selling girl guide cookies recently. It was amusing me to be selling 'poison' to other people.

I've had quite a few gluten dreams. Meh, they make a change from my usual repetoire of anxiety dreams! I think the best was being chased by cupcakes on little legs.

I'm a PhD student right now. I had a dream two nights ago in which I failed my oral dissertation defense, and then the dissertation itself was rejected. Then I had to go to a celebration party for all of my classmates who had passed their defenses and were awarded their degrees. Part of the way through the party I realized I had a fork in my hand and was eating...yep. Regular gluten cake. I'd eaten half of the piece already so the damage was already done. *sigh*

My recurring dream is that I get to be on Survivor and the only food they keep giving us for the reward challenges is things like cookies and pizza and burgers. And I have to go climb trees trying to get coconuts or bananas to survive while all my tribemates eat their reward. Then they have a challenge that requires EATING and the stuff we have to eat is something gluten and my tribe is mad at me because I won't eat it. I usually wake up around the time they are about to vote me off. I had a similar dream once about being on the Amazing Race too. I guess I need to cut back on my reality TV watching. :P

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
