i just found out on thursday oct 14, that my dr thinks there is a high possibility i have an allergy to glutens, since i dont have insurance at the time he doesnt want to send me to a specialist bc it will cost too much. so he said to go on a gluten free diet to see if my rash/break out on my back and elbows go away. he wants to do a biopsy on the spots on my back and send me to a dermatologist, so as soon as i finish my externship and get a job, i will set all that up. i was thinking of going to the ER for a second opinion, just to see what they have to say.

i am from Dallas, TX and have 3 children! i look forward to learning alot of info from everyone here!

The rash could be dermatitis herpetiformis, known as DH around here. The other DH is Dear Husband, and some people say they cause lots of problems too. There is a section of the forum dedicated to DH, so you might want to check that out. They say the biopsy has to be from the skin close to the lesions, not the lesion itself.

      That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

      Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

      Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

      Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
