I have to go out soon and shovel. Commounity services for the blind is coming tomorrow. They pick up useful household items, toys and clothing that we no longer need. Have to put out trash, if they will pick it up! They still have not plowed the streets near where I live.

I was worried about my friend, but she is staying with her son who lives near where she works.

My parents did not buy much food and now they are stuck at home like we are. Husband did walk to drugstore so if we really needed something, he could go get it.

We've got about five inches of snow at our house, but I have an Outback (and even have chains for it for icy conditions, just in case), so my husband was able to get to work. If Daphne wakes up before it gets dark, I might walk over to the store - we're lucky that it's can be a pretty short walk (~5-10min) if we shortcut through our backyard. It's looking like we aren't going to have the warming/refreezing thing that had previously been in the forecast for Wednesday (it's just going to stay cold), which at least means that we won't have the horrid, horrid ice conditions that could have occurred.

I hope you guys don't have to go out much!

Stay warm! It's mighty early for this snow mess and such.

My mom called and said we'll do Thanksgiving on Fri. So I'm redoing our meals. Chicken stew tomorrow. Lil Smokies in BBQ sauce for Thanksgiving, Thu. I can do those in the crockpot while I bake. Chicken is still partially frozen so that will have to be done on the stove.

Had no power all day yesterday. The house gets really cold when it's 20 degrees outside. :o Ended up going to a friends house for the night.

Not good! We do have heat, but it's not enough. Had ice in th kitchen greenhouse window last night. Am going to bake a small cake now. The heat from the oven will help.

We had about 8" of snow at our house and it got down to 13º F (10.5º C) last night. It is 24º F (4º C) at our house right now. Fortunately we have a wood stove and it is nice and toasty at home.

We were on a HWY 12 in central WA and there was a little coupe that had skidded off the road. It was -3F and we were out there trying to dig and push the car out. The lady had 2 teenage sons and a new baby in the back seat :o 2 big trucks showed up and one had a tow chain, thank goodness! We were out there for at least a 1/2 hour before we got them pulled out. The lowest we saw on our trip was -7F and when we HAD to stop at a rest station, it was -5F! Soooo happy it was 47 here today!!

Glad y'all are safe and sound!

Wow! That's not good.

No, not good at all! But we're all safe and sound now, so that's all that matters :D

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
