We recently upgraded the board so please let me know if you have any issues.

PS: I do know about the general formatting issues that I need to work out.

Take care,

Scott

It looks nice and seems to work pretty well. One thing I noticed is that "about me" on our profiles isn't on the main profile page any more. You have to click a tab to see it. I'm not sure it's going to be as intuitive for new users, a lot of whom have to be directed to profiles in the first place. A lot of us have our stories and some hopefully useful info there for people with similar health problems. Is there any way to put our "about me" stories back on the page you see when you click someone's name rather than off on a tab?

Thanks, and you're da bomb for keeping this board going!

The size of the NO AVATAR avatar is now larger than Rhode Island and Delaware.

It looks like the Ghost of Boards Past is now staring out from some youtube posted next to each comment.

"hey look, here's another one of those old cranks who won't post a picture !"

I'd love to see a place under the avatar for a person's location to be listed (optional, not required) and no more than a couple of lines. It was there when I first joined but I know it got out of hand with a zillion lines shown for some members.

I agree. The giant green No Avatar is a little distracting.

It looks like a TV in need of replacing!

I believe it has been done to strongly encourage all to have some sort of picture. I like to change my Av often. Much as some change their hair style or color. Because I would not look good as a blonde and am too old to have pink or green hair, I change my av to fill that deep need inside me.

Don't think I haven't tried  I am totally inept. No matter how small I made the pic it kept telling me it was TOO BIG.

Personally I like the Mushroom House...it's just too cute! Pick out an image you like, email it to me and I'll resize it for you. :D

ETA: Or send me the link to the image...

It was probably file size, not picture size. you may need to compress the picture as, depending on what's in the picture, they may max out the file size while still being within the pixel size. (perhaps scott could adjust the file size limit a bit? it shouldn't need a big change)

Plus, I had finally gotten around to posting a picture awhile ago, and now it's gone and I have to go through that all again. Maybe that big ugly NO Avatar sign will speed up the process this time.

Scott Adams Grand Master

I fixed the size of the "No Avatar" image so that it isn't so big. I'll see what I can do about the "About Me" tab, and the location below the avatar.

Take care,

Scott

Scott, I am finding quite often (two or three times today) that when I check new content I am taken to the last post in the thread, often skipping over several new posts that are also unread and posted since I last checked. This seems to happen on a new page flipover.

i am australian. we do have plenty of substitutes, but most are very expensive compared to the originals. i believe i'll just stick to home cooked meals and not have many treats at all. it's sad but it's just so much easier. also, ive heard far too many horror stories of people ordering gluten free food from restaurants and cafés, explicitly telling servers and kitchen staff that cross contamination is a strict no go, and they still get very sick. until i find a reasonably priced fully gluten free kitchen somewhere, i am not eating out for my safety and sanity.

thank you all for the kind words and support. it truly means a lot. i know i will adapt, it really just is a grieving process right now though. looking forward to feeling healthier!

To Trent’s, yes, from what i’ve read it is not uncommon for digestive systems to become less tolerant to gluten over time. Many types of sensitivity or allergies arise in older people who never had a problem. I don’t see why you are focusing on anything but the fact that after years of my sensitivity to gluten, for whatever reason , it has disappeared after a bout of antibiotics. What i’ve read is antibiotics can make gluten sensitivity worse. In any event, in my case, if I can still eat all the wheat products I want with no reaction after a month or more since my hospital stay this is something that should be investigated. Time will tell.

I had a UTI, blood cultures are standard to insure that the infection does not get in the bloodstream which can lead to sepsis and death. In my case there was bacteria in my blood which necessitated 48 hours of antibiotic IV

Hi Cameo674. just read your post. Well wishes to a correct diagnosis so that you can get on track to healing and feeling better. Personally I know it’s good to have the eosinophilic disorder ruled out too, as this can show anti-ttg igA antibodies too. But usually without the anti-gliadin antibodies unless gliadin is an allergen for you. Thanks for posting the link to look up SNPs rs… numbers on another post. Was useful. Looking at your result, ”Celiac Associated HLD-DQ Typing: DQA1* Value: 05; DQA1*DQA11 Value: 05; DQB1* Value: 02; DQB1-DQB11 Value: 02; Celiac Gene Pairs Present Value: Yes; Celiac HLA Interpretation Value: These genes are permissive for celiac disease.  However, these...
