Deboles Pasta

I made some Deboles rice spiral pasta last night and now I am sick. This was the first time that I have tried this pasta. I usually buy another brand but this one was cheaper. Never again. I went on their website and they have recalled some pasta due to undeclared wheat. This is not the first time that this company has recalled pasta for the same reason. They recalled a corn pasta last year for undecalred wheat. I emailed the company, the same company that produces Rice Dream and they told me that they don't have dedicated equipment or a dedicate facility. They produce whole wheat pastas on the same equipment and "wash" between gluten and gluten free pastas.

I haven't been this sick in a long time. :(

I sent Deboles a message and let them know that I'll think twice about their products when I'm at the grocery store. :)

My boys and I will eat rice pasta if we don't have anyother choice but we like the corn pastas the best. Sams Mill corn pasta at our house. Even hubby will eat it. Sorry you are feeling bad. I hope it passes soon.

At the very least they should put on the package "manufactured on shared equipment as wheat"

This company who also makes the Garden of eatin corn chips recalled those as well for undeclared wheat. What gets me is that all of the food from this sucky company is labeled gluten free.

So good to know. I'm so sorry. I tend to be leery of anything owned by the Hain Food Group, which DeBoles is, because they also own Arrowhead Mills, and that always makes me sick.

On a better note, I kept trying to make DeBoles Pasta and Velveeta shells, and kept getting sick. I have to take Lactaid to digest the Velveeta, but with other brands of gluten-free pasta, like H.E.B. or WalMart Brand, I'm just fine.

I'm just glad it's not the Velveeta. =0)

I am just not a fan and will eat it only under duress. The last few times I've purchased their product (in a pinch) the pasta looked like it had little tiny cracks in it and turned to complete mush 4 minutes into the cooking process. There is definitely something going on with their manufacturing process.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.

Many years ago yes, after eating and going to bed, apparently my esophagus filled with food that my body rejected, the esophagus would lay against the Heart sack (pericardium?) and the heart would respond by becoming arrhythmic. That went away with the strict diet.

I was commenting on the report saying it did not mention migraines! Yes it does last paragraph says have not seen any evidence that Celiac cause migraines! I thought this was about truth?

It has been known for some years that celiacs suffer from migraines at a higher rate than the general populatation. It is an established symptom.
