Glutened? Or Just Baby?

I got a publix chicken Lemon Pepper rotisserie chicken last night, and before I bought it I asked about CC. The Deli girl assured me there was no cross contamination at all. I ended up eating it and it seemed fine until about 10pm...then I was awake with horrible cramps. Awful.

Usually when I get glutened I get D and Nausea followed by C and severe cramping. So...what is it possible it was just the baby rearranging my insides? Or was it a minor glutening? Do the reactions change during pregnancy?

I'm 17 weeks now and definitely growing! I wish I could tell what was happening in there LOL

I got glutened once while I was pregnant with my daughter. My initial reaction was the same-- severe headache and nausea, but it was gone the next day, instead of lingering it's usual 7-10 days. SO, my reaction did change during pregnancy, and it's quite possible yours did, too.

There were also foods that I normally tolerate fine, but when I was pregnant made me want to die! I remember crackers and chips of any sort were awful (these were definitely gluten-free items, too, so it wasn't an issue of CC).

thanks for the heads up!! I was shocked at how much I grew last night, but my husband asked if maybe it was swelling? I dunno but SOMETHING got bigger in there LOL

While I didn't know I was gluten intolerant back when I was having children, my symptoms multiplied dramatically at that time. 20/20 hindsight now. Don't be surprised if you are much more sensitive than you were before.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
