hi all,

in January, I will be going to Northern Florida and the Panhandle for 2 weeks. I will be in Amelia Island and also might go to Gainesville, Tallahassee, Apalachicola, Savannah, GA and other parts of the panhandle. I have been to Florida many times (my mom is from Gainesville) but this will be the first time going since diagnosed with Celiac disease. Plus, I have never been to the panhandle before. Any suggestions would be welcome!

I'm sure you will find Publix & Whole Foods around. Just go to their websites & type in the zip code where you will be staying & the nearest locations will pop up . For items that you think will be hard to find just bring those with you. HAVE FUN!

yes, I am aware of Publix. I'm not sure if I would be able to find a Whole Foods outside of Jacksonville (I'll be flying into JAX but am not planning on spending much if any time there). Tallahassee might have one, but outside of those 2 cities, I'd be a little surprised. Does anyone know of any dining in any of these areas?

CC - I would suggest you Google "gluten friendly restaurants" in the area of your choice. At that point you can contact those dining facilities and request further information.

Personal experience...I have none., but hope to someday.

There was a Jacksonville thread on here at one point... I paid attention because my parents live in St. Aug... I remember some restaurants being record in the area on that thread.

Search under Jacksonville and you may find it.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
