Hello everyone,so of you know how I've been having problems getting a proper diagnosis. Today I finally got my blood results back, and they were negative for coeliac disease.

She will not send me for a biopsy, but she said I was gluten intolerant and sensitive. However, I know I have more symptoms than this, and I have diagnosed myself, I suppose you could say, with coeliac. She told me to stop eating gluten, which I've been gradually doing the past few days, and today is my first fully gluten free day! So here I am, excited that within a few months, I might actually feel better for once

Well, I'm happy if you're happy :).

I dont remember, did you have vitamin deficiency panels run? That maybe the only thing to look at, if it wasn't already.

Im glad you're excited and I wish you much luck,

Mateto Enthusiast

Yes I did. I was told I'm anaemic....ANOTHER symptom of coeliac disease the doctor ignored. :P

Well, take some iron (I'm assuming you're talking about iron) and make them retest it in 6 months.

IrishHeart Veteran

There are several forms of anemia--

B-12 deficiency, Folate deficiency, Iron deficiency.

What exactly did she say??

How much did she say to supplement with?

Mateto Enthusiast

My iron was HIGH on the last test....hemaglobin (or whatever) was low. Which doesn't make sense, I was re-tested for that only today, because she said the results were probably wrong. But yet I'm still anaemic.

Anyways I'm not too concerned, because I've been going gradually gluten free the past few todays and today completely. One symptom has stopped! I know it won't be for a few months until feeling completely better, but my only challenge is getting my family members to take this seriously.

I can NOT stress how important cross-contamination is. THEY JUST WON'T UNDERSTAND!

You need to get a copy of all your labs. Plus the retest.

I think I'd have better luck trying to drown a fish

My Doctor wouldn't let me see them!

Because of our free healthcare under the MCP/NHS, Private practitioners are few and far between. My Doctor (I feel) is only in it for the money, but she told me that apparently she's "told me everything she can" <_<

She also said my hemaglobin will fix itself eventually. I really don't understand her, she gives me a million different answers. The main thing is: I'm on the road to feeling better :)

There must be a law that forces them to disclose.

Seriously.

Mateto Enthusiast

I think so!

She called me today because I had more bloodwork done. Out of an act of kindness, at least she told me my hemaglobin is gone back to normal and so is my iron.

I haven't been gluten-free for very long, but I was when I had these tests, so that might have something to do with it.

This doctor is only filling in for my doctor who is in Australia at the moment, so I won't pursure anything legal yet. My normal doctor is excellent, she knows what she is doing, so I know if I ask her for my records she'll probably give me a copy :D

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
