I don't know how much faith I put into this man, but here's my story.

We had a neighborhood cookout on Sunday Sept. 4. There is a new family in town and they wanted to meet the new neighbors. The husband works for Anheuser-Busch as a sales manager. He is pretty high up as he has been relocating every 2 years or so to work up the ladder. He said they are coming out with a new product every 4-6 weeks right now. They are doing a test market in Boston on an organic beer. They are listening to the public as sales are slipping due to liquor and wine sales increasing. They are also coming out with some sort of beer that has the anti-oxidents from blueberries due to request.

So, he took his palm pilot out and started jotting down info about Celiacs! He was a little confused at first but I think I cleared him up. He was going to send in a request first thing in the morning. He was very interested in the fact that it is estimated that 1 in 133 people have it.

I am hopefull. I live in Wisconsin and it is truly a tragedy that I cannot have beer nor can I boil my brats in beer. They don't sell any gluten-free beers here yet. I am struggling as to where to go to solicit that I want them here!!!

Keep your fingers crossed all of you beer fans! There could be more options coming our way!! ;)

Oh I hear you there! That's the first thing that people usually ask me "Can you have beer?" and then they are totally horrified when they find out I can't. I mean, why even live in Wisconsin if you can't have beer! What am I supposed to do when we go to the Packer game this year??

OH NO! :o The Packer game & no beer?? That happend to me 2 years ago. I smuggled Captn Morgans in! B) SHHH!! It still wasn't the same as beer & Packers though!

Hello,

I've had Bards Tale Beer which is gluten-free. Its pretty good. You can order it online at internetwines.com. Although they are currently out of stock. Bardsbeer.com states that online ordering is under construction. So there is hope there.

Also, Ramapo Valley Brewery sells their gluten-free beer on the website. I have not had that one yet. It is expensive with the S&H but isn't everything we have to buy.

Ok. So I went to their web site, Open Original Shared Link

They have all sorts of stuff saying, "we have Gluten Free Beer", and a list of their beers. But I can't figure out what beer is Gluten Free. Surely they all aren't, every single one of them says it contains Malt...

Anyone try this beer before? Just trying to figure out which beer they sell that is Gluten Free.

I have had the same problem. I looked all over the site and I couldn't find any information about the gluten-free beer.

Jams, I almost weep everytime I walk through the store and see Spotted Cow. :(

Someone mentioned brats... BRATS! There are gluten-free brats???? Please tell me what kind!

I'll be eternally grateful and won't rub it in when my Vikings win the NFC north this year! :D

Johnsonville original brats are gluten-free, to the best of my knowledge.

Usingers are gluten-free too.

I had the same problem at the websites for gluten-free beer. I am not very computer friendly so that may be some of the problem too. I did try the Bard's Tale, didn't care for it too much. I am a lite beer fan. I was told the Rampo Valley (sp?) may be a better choice for me. I just can't figure out how to order it! <_< I see the link that says to click here for gluten free beer drinkers.... but then it takes me to a page of information only. Any suggestions would be great!

Bum Bum Ba Bum Bum.... GO PACK GO! (You'll only know the tune to that if you are a packer fan!! :P )

Hello,

Well - it appears to me that Ramapo Valley Brewery has moved. They used to be in Suffern, NY & now the website says they are in Hillburn, NY. Maybe they are going through a moving process.

They also changed their website. It used to be very straightforward with the ordering process. Hopefully this is a temporary occurence. They do still advertise the gluten-free beer so hopefully it will be back soon.

Maybe the best bet would be to call them if you can find the phone #. I only found the old phone # on Yahoo Yellow Pages.

Hey, Wandering Hermit - the R30 DVD is coming out in the fall. It was filmed in Germany. Also, it seems we are always posting in these beer related threads.

I just came across this old post while I was doing a search on something else. It's from 2005.

      Sainsbury's Free From White Sliced Bread - Now Egg Free - Completely Ruined It

      This is a common experience across the board with various brands of gluten-free bread products. Prices go up, size goes down. Removal of the egg component may be for the purpose of cost-cutting related to bird flu supply shortages or it may be catering to those with egg allergy/sensitivity, fairly common in the celiac community.

Has anyone here had braces and did it cause any problems or issues with gum recession?  Her dentist seemed oblivious that celiac patients are at higher risk of gum disease /cavities. Her bottom teeth are crooked but are pretty hidden even when she smiles. Thank you!!

      Living with Coeliac Disease since birth, Bread has always been an issue, never too nice, small slices and always overpriced, But Sainsbury's Free From White Sliced Bread seemed to me to be an exception with it's large uniform 12 x 12cm slices that had the bounce, texture and taste of white bread even after toasting with no issue that it was also Milk Free. Unfortunately Sainsbury's have changed the recipe and have made it 'Egg Free' too and it has lost everything that made the original loaf so unique. Now the loaf is unevenly risen with 8 x 8cm slices at best, having lost it's bounce with the texture dense and cake like after toasting resembling nothing like White Bread anymore. Unsure as to why they have had to make it 'Egg Free' as the price is the same at £1.90 a loaf. Anyone else experiencing the same issue with it? - also any recommendations for White Bread that isn't prescription? / Tesco's / Asda's are ok but Sainsbury's was superior.

Finally a pickup came down the road, laughed at our situation, then pulled the VW free of the mud. We followed him back to the ski area where where he started up the rope ski lift and we had an enjoyable hour of skiing and gave us a shot of aquavit  before we left.It was a great rescue.  In some ways this reminds me of your situation. You are waiting for a rescue and you have chosen medical practitioners to do it now or as soon as possible. As you have found out the med. experts have not learned how to help you. You face years of continuing to feel horrible, frustrated searching for your rescuer to save you. You can break away from from this pattern of thinking and you have begun breaking  away by using some herbs and supplements from doTerra. Now you can start trying some of the suggestions thatother Celiacs have written to your original posts.  You live with other people who eat gluten foods. Cross contamination is very possible. Are you sure that their food is completely separate from their food. It  is not only the gluten grains you need to avoid (wheat, barley, rye) but possibly oats, cows milk also. Whenever you fall back into that angry and frustrated way of thinking get up and walk around for a whild. You will learn ways to break that way of thinking about your problems.  Best wishes for your future. May you enjpy a better life.

      Thanks for responding. I researched further and Lindt Lindor chocolate balls do contain barely malt powder which contains gluten. I was surprised at all of the conflicting information I found when I checked online.
