B-12 / Folic Acid Injections?

Any one experienced:

Has anyone had B-12 and Folic Acid injections and how soon do you feel better.

From a not-healed, new celiac disease, with gastro. problems.

I began seeing a difference fairly quickly, but it took several weeks for me to really get energy again. Watch the folic acid levels if you begin to have insomnia. I had to lower mine because I would take a shot and be up for a couple of days. Boy did I ever get a lot accomplished over those couple of days, though!

I haven't had shots but I did take a B complex with folic acid for a while, and it did help especially with the brain fog and fatigue - almost immediately for me. But I wasn't sick for long before going gluten free (a month of D more or less). I think my levels are ok nowadays though because I started having a bit of insomnia as well. :) Nowadays I just take a pill if I've recently been glutened and need to be able to work.

they say 48 to 72 hours but it took me about a week and a half to start noticing any differences. and to see major differences in my forgetfulness and poor concentration it took about one month.

      @Mari, did you read that second article that Scott linked? It is the most recently date one. "Researchers comparing rates of headaches, including migraines, among celiac patients and a healthy control group showed that celiac subjects experienced higher rates of headaches than control subjects, with the greatest rates of migraines found in celiac women.  Additionally, celiacs had higher rates of migraine than control subjects, especially in women. In fact, four out of five women with celiac disease suffered from migraines, and without aura nearly three-quarters of the time."

      As far as I know and I have made severalonline searches, celiac disease disease has not been recognized as a cause of migraines or any eye problems. What I wrote must have been confusing.

      Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

      I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.
