I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance earlier this year and had been doing really well. Until the past month. I fell off the wagon. I've been eatting gluten and feeling miserable. I hate feeling this way and I hate what it does to my children and friends. Today is my first day back on and it's a struggle. I need to get my life back and relationships. Sorry having a HUGE pity party today. I hate withdrawal. The hard part with the gluten free diet for me is I LOVE gluten, and am a vegitarian who is a picky eatter. Sigh.......

Sometimes I wish we could all be put into an induced coma until the withdrawal passes. (It would work for smoking too.)

Hang in there and when you need to vent, this is the place. :)

The good news is, it will pass and soon, you will feel great again!

Hang in there and if you have a craving, make yourself some gluten-free muffins or something to take the edge off.

Thanks everyone! Its been about 4 days now, I'm feeling LOTS better. My attitude has improved, and my head is much better. Along with a ton of other things. I'm also down 2.2 pounds! Whahoo! Stupid GLUTEN. I hate how it draws me in. I need to not cave anymore!

Think of it the same way I do: RAT POISON. ANTHRAX. CYANIDE. MAGGOTS.

Should I continue??

Welcome back to "clear head central"!!

The brain fog is so powerful a motivator for me, I know I'll never knowingly ingest gluten again.

I think of it like Irish as well, poison.

I've heard drug addicts tell me how glorious a cocaine binge can be, and I've never been tempted because I know where that goes for so many people. Gluten is just as dangerous for me.

I couldn't agree more, that's exactly how you have to think about it! Good luck!!?

Personally, I think the people who don't think of gluten as POISON are the ones who struggle the most....are the most tempted...have the most doubt. Even when they've proven what gluten was doing to them...

Somebody should make a Gluten Scared Straight video...with the sickest among us being interviewed... It should be required viewing in medical school, too. IMO

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
