  1. You're all weird! I'm gonna go have me some creamed garlic on crackers now. This thread has gone made me hungry.
  2. I'm glad its not just us! I'm always baffled when she's eating salt and chocolate! Although I must admit, extra dark chocolate, red wine and grapes... not a weird craving set, but a very satisfying one...
  3. If there are any brits about I'd be more than happy to chat... South west? Heck, does anyone else except me and my girl actually live in the south?
  4. So, after six months gluten-free, the DH, brainfog, tiredness and random joint aches were back with a vengence today for my wife. The only thing my wife has eaten in the past three days that she didn't read the ingredients for was a Cadbury's Creme egg. This is probably one for the brits, but if anyone can tell me if this was the culprit or not I'd be...
  5. My wife's hair was quite long, but pretty poor quality for quite a long time, and a few months ago we decided we'd both go short [that way, at least both of us suffer with an awful haircut if it goes wrong!] and did eachother's hair. Since she's been gluten free, its grown much faster and much stronger. She's now got this cute little 50's cut that takes about...
  6. My wife gets cravings for chocolate [usually something really sickly like a mars bar] with salty chips. She tends to eat them together, although I think its more a hormone thing than anything else.
  7. Its ok! We still laugh about her sleep-toasting habits! I'm never letting her forget that one... there is a reason we no longer keep bread in the house and I leave something outside the bedroom door at night.
  8. Its been raining for six weeks here. I'm not kidding. The only way I noticed that it was heading for spring was that the rain got warmer and had less solid bits in it. That and the wind had died down some. Saying that, I wear the same stuff all year round. Difference is, in winter I wear it all on the same day and in summer I wear it spread over several weeks...
  9. As far as I can tell, the answers you're looking for are here: Open Original Shared Link
  10. We haven't had genetic testing. We fought for three months just to get her a blood test done when a friend of mine who is still a med student said 'I know what these symptoms look like...' as it is, the health service has refused point blank to do any testing at all. According to our last doctor, you can't check for food intelorences with a blood test. She...
  11. Proof that even the Enterprise isn't immune to the blue screen of death! (I'm only a trekkie by association too- my wife! She's gotten me hooked on comic books, star trek, D&D....)
  12. Well, if you think thats a winner.... http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/Kya.../dataownage.gif For the trekkie in all of us...
  13. This poll is interesting, given that my wife and I are planning to have children in a few years time. She was born severely premature, and so wasn't breast fed, because by the time she was de-tanked her mother's milk had all but dried up. She was always a sickly child- athsmatic tendencies, psoriasis, eczema, poor muslce tone, all of that. Cleared up the...
  14. If you can stomach it, the expensive extra dark chocolate never seems to contain anything gluten related. Here we stick to the 42% and the 65% coco stuff and never have a problem. Goes nice with red wine.
  15. Nah, thats not all that stupid. Stupid was my wife's 4AM toast cravings, just post diagnosis. She got up, still sleepy, and wandered into the kitchen, made herself two peices of toast, ate them both and came back to bed. She didn't even realise what she'd done until the morning, she'd done it so often in the past. Phoning her into work sick that morning...
  16. Beat this: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/Kya...47655155979.gif
  17. I found another funny.... http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/Kya...guin_Avatar.gif Penguins huh?
  18. I don't know if this will work, but its a pretty good song quote under any circumstances: "Don't let us get sick, Don't let us get old, Don't let us get stupid, alright? Just make us be brave, And make us play nice, And let us be together tonight."
  19. What, uhhhh.... me? I'm just a bored adolescent with too much time on my hands... and too many friends who send me funny stuff.
  20. I can't wait to get a car, and not have to get the bus everywhere [including the nightmarish four bus hop to get to college]. First though, I need to learn to drive... Congrats on getting a new car though!
  21. There are a few more here that people might find funny: [be warned, they might take a second to get moving properly] Britan, in a nutshell... or a teacup... http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/Kyalesyin/386696.gif Why you should never sleep at work: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/Kya...SleepAtWork.gif A good friend of mine, making...
  22. A friend of mine just sent me this. It made me spit juice on my keyboard.... Hmmm... image code doesn't seem to work... This should http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/Kya...054image6uu.webp
  23. My wife had massive mood swings when she came off. I mean literally, troll queen from hell moodswings. Part of it I think was situational in her case- having to change everything about your diet is hard, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is in yours. However, they did settle down about 3-4 months in, especially once we'd gotten the hang of the little...
  24. We found that when my wife was first healing [one week in] it took a lot to make her feel well and truly glutened- a lot like a peice of toast. By four weeks, a single gravy cube did it. Now, at about six months, a singe breadcrumb does it. I think the ammount it takes to bring you lower gets smaller and smaller as the body heals, because there is actually...
  25. This is more than just helpful. You have seriously just saved my holiday. We're planning where to eat when at the moment. I'll get back to you if there are any problems. Thank you so much. I wish there was some way I could thank you properly for this.
