				ARCHIVED 'normal' Thyroid Levels
Looking for answers replied to Brittany2's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hey there, I'm no expert either, but I had just about the same scores you have when I was tested four months ago. I do not want to be put on medication, so I've been seeing a naturopathic doctor. He suggested I have problems with adrenal exhaustion, which can led to immune system dysfunction, low thyroid, etc. Anyways, he ran a test and it turned out that... -

				ARCHIVED Lightheaded Still
Looking for answers replied to Fields's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi, I've had trouble with dizziness for years. Every time I stand up too fast, I get really dizzy and everything turns black. I have to stop and grab a wall and then it resolves in about 3-5 seconds. Is this what you are experiencing? If so, I ended up finding out that I have adrenal exhaustion, which is a common side effect of gluten intolerance (because... -
May I make a few suggestions? I went through all of this as well. I think you need to focus on repairing your intensitnal track, and the first place to start with this is to eliminate ALL processed foods for a while. If you have blood sugar problems and don't eat meat (I used to be a vegan too and didn't eat meat), you really need to be sure you're getting...

				ARCHIVED Gastritis And Gluten Intolerance
Looking for answers replied to DinaB's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I also suffered from horrible gastritis for nearly a year. Licorice root helped aid the acute pain, but it was ridding all points of inflammation in my diet that really ultimately cured it. This meant eating mostly whole foods and taking supplements like L-glutamine, Omega 3'a. probiotics and digestive enzymes. I also quit taking synthetic vitamins and started... -

ARCHIVED I'm So Glad I Got Scoped Again
Looking for answers replied to melrobsings's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have an appointment to see a specialist next week to help me out with my diet. I felt terrific for a long time but recently started get C again. Anyways, maybe you should consider a rotation diet (without gluten, of course) and see if you feel better. Check out what I've read on his site. ARCHIVED Upper Right Gi Tenderness
Looking for answers replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I'm having the same trouble but on the left side. I had a ultra-sound done two days ago but everything looked normal, my doctor said. It doesn't feel normal, so I'm frustrated. I do know I have a hiatal hernia, so maybe that's it. You may want to try the symptom checker on Web MD . . . that might help you scope out the possibilities. I hope you feel better... -

				ARCHIVED Orange County Register Story
Looking for answers posted a topic in Publications & Publicity
Just wanted to report that I was thrilled to open the Orange County Register today to find an article about gluten intolerance. The article talked about how gluten intolerance is becoming more "common" and restaurants that cater to Celiacs have a "cult-like" following. It was a great article and I was glad to see it as the lead story on a Sunday! Also... -

Looking for answers replied to Looking for answers's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease

				ARCHIVED Hiatal Hernia?
Looking for answers replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I'm 28 and have a hiatal hernia. It causes major issues every now and again--GERD, stomach pain, gastritis, etc. It only "flares" up when I eat certain foods or when I'm under a LOT of stress. That's when gastritis kicks in. Once I get the culprit food out of my diet and relax, it will go back down. I can feel pressure in my upper abdomen when I bend over... -

Looking for answers replied to arch8's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
A lot of us have experience the same problem. Dairy causes bad gas for me so I've eliminated it, and soy too. I've notice now that the only thing that causes flare-ups is some refined foods. I try to eat whole foods only, and take enzymes and probiotics. -

				ARCHIVED Quinoa....yuck
Looking for answers replied to singingserena's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I love quinoa. I buy it by the box from Trader Joes. We normally cook it with vegetable broth and it's soo yummy. We pair it with chicken and fish as a side dish. Last week I took quinoa and used it as a base and added chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, bell peppers and tossed it with italian dressing. It was a terrific lunch all week. -

ARCHIVED About To Go Dairy Free And Depressed As All Get Out About It
Looking for answers replied to eLaurie's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I get coconut milk at Trader Joes and it's reasonably priced. My husband and I are both dairy-free. We find the mediterranean hummus sold at Costco is a must-have for us now. We mix it in rice, use it to stuff mushrooms, add salsa to it for amazing dip, etc. The rich, creamy texture it has is a great substitute. -

Just read this in the paper and thought I would share this with everyone: WASHINGTON (AP) -- Foods made without a protein found in wheat, rye and barley could be labeled gluten-free under a proposed rule released Monday by federal health officials. The proposal would allow companies to voluntarily flag foods without the cereal protein, which can cause... -
Sorry for the delayed response . . .haven't checked the board in a few days. I visited the LB Aquarium and ate at the PF Changs next door and had no problems. ARCHIVED Great Help At Whole Foods
Looking for answers replied to wowzer's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
The Whole Foods in Tustin, California puts red tags on all items that are gluten free, next to the price. So as I scan up and down the aisles, I just look for the tags and can find food so simply. I wish all the stores offered this because it's second best to having dedicated aisle.
