				ARCHIVED Sulphur Flatulence
Looking for answers replied to sallyterpsichore's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi, A couple of suggestions...eliminate dairy for a while. I found my acne completely cleared up after I stopped ingesting it. Like another poster said, it was the casein for me. Also, be sure to take a QUALITY probiotic and enzyme with every meal until this starts clearing up. You won't believe how much this will help. I've been in your shoes... -

ARCHIVED So Grateful For Years Of Painful Symptoms - Really!
Looking for answers replied to gf-soph's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi, I'm so happy to hear this news for you. It's great that you're so proactive about your health at such a young age, and it definitely has paid off. Years ago I read a book by Jordon Rubin. He's the maker of the Garden of Life supplement line. I can't remember how I stumbled across his book (If I remember right, it was called The Maker's Diet). Anyways... -

ARCHIVED Why Do I Feel Sick When I'm Eating Gluten Free?
Looking for answers replied to Shelabel's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
It may not be diet related. I went through a very fatigued period last year and my homepathic doctor ran a adrenal fatigue test on me and found my cortisol to be extremely low. Also, my thyroid hormones were low as well. I'm finally feeling energetic after six months of treatment, new vitamins, and easier exercise then what I was doing before. -

				ARCHIVED Gluten Sensitivity After Giardia
Looking for answers replied to michaelkl1's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Did you get a biospy done on the itchy rash? If you ever get it back and didn't get a biospy already, I highly recommend that you do. There is a specific rash that celiac sufferers often get that can confirm a diagnoses for you. As you may realize by reading through some posts, blood work is often inconclusive. Dont' worry about not being able to get... -
I personally don't eat at fast food restaurants because I just don't trust the workers and/or practices, having once worked in one during high school. Either way though, I never eat chili out because I find it to be one of the most riskiest foods, and soups as well. Flour is often used as a thickener.

				ARCHIVED Relationships, Celiac, And Compromise
Looking for answers replied to flutterby's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi, I used to have the same problem as you, but I'm much better now (we'll get to more of that in a minute). I think what may frustrate your boyfriend and those around you is that you know this is a problem yet you aren't ensuring you have food on you. It's not only a little dangerous for you but it's ovewhelming to have to rush to find someone something... -

ARCHIVED Anyone Know Anything About Avocado Allergies?
Looking for answers replied to Black Sheep's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
EXCELLENT suggestion. I take it each day and recommend it to everyone on here. I blend mine in with my smoothie in the morning. -

ARCHIVED Anyone Know Anything About Avocado Allergies?
Looking for answers replied to Black Sheep's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'd probably have a harder time giving up avocados than gluten, dairy and the nuts I've had to give up. I never had a problem with nuts until I started eating Almonds on a daily basis during a stressful time in my life. Now I get the same reactions to them as you describe with avocados. Sorry, but it sounds like you have other intolerances as well. -

ARCHIVED Celiac & Itp (Low Platlet Bleeding Disorder)
Looking for answers replied to Sheryl589's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I've had low blood platlets for years....they've never dropped to a dangerously low number but they are usually out of range. I also have gastristis. I believe your daugter will be able to control it from getting any worse by eliminating gluten and possibly dairy. -

ARCHIVED Did You Have A Trigger That Started Your Symptoms?
Looking for answers replied to afreeclimber74's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I was never the same after a surgery when I was 14. I had severe stomach pain and D throughout the rest of my young adult life and into college. At 25, I started working out really had. One day after a rigorous hike, I looked down at my leg and gasped when I discovered fat loss - it looked like someone had tied two invisible rubberbands around my legs. I... -

Looking for answers replied to lucia's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had many lingering issues after going gluten-free until I found a good multi-vitamin. antioxidant, vitamin B, D, K, ubitquitol (sp?), probiotics and enzymes. Yes, I take several pills through the day, but I have trouble getting the nutrients out of my food, despite eating mostly whole, organic foods. Without the proper supplementation, I was just "spinning... -

				ARCHIVED Symptoms Returning
Looking for answers replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Have you ever been tested for h-pylori infection? I was tested via blood once, which came back negative. I tested positive with a stool test. Look up the symptoms and see if they match up. BTW, I get that fullness from small meals too at times. Mine is caused by gastritis, which may or may not be from the h-pylori...can't get a straight answer on it! -
The only thing I know is that there are no absolutes when it comes to autoimmune disorders and their symptoms. So, I'd say, this is completely false information.

I see this is your first post. Welcome! You do understand that this is a board for people with gluten intolerance/Celiac Disease and that you are recommending a product with wheat dextrin, right? That can be dangerous for people here. Just trying to protect the newbies... I'm sure am glad that you found something to help you feel better!

				ARCHIVED Need Vitamin Brand Suggestions
Looking for answers replied to Kathleen Smith's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I spent thousands of dollars on vitamins (whole food supplement, "pharaceutical-grade supplements, etc). The only vitamin I've literally seen a change in my bloodwork from is Isotonix. It was recommeded by my homeopathic doctor due to my absorption issues. It comes in a powder form and you mix it with water and take it on an empty stomach. If you take it... -

				ARCHIVED Need To Cleanse
Looking for answers replied to Jencat's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I take chorella three times a day - it's a powerful, all natural cleanser. Also, saunas, dry brushing and rebounding work well. You can also add bulk to your diet to get things "moving." (sorry for that ) I wouldn't do any invasive techniques myself, and I would also work with a qualified physician and homepathic doctor. Some of us are not in the place... -

				ARCHIVED Scared
Looking for answers replied to Scaredandworried87's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi, Before going gluten free I struggled to keep weight off, I was between a size 10-12 then. Today, I'm a healthy size 0-2. I found that having my body in a state of chaos caused by gluten (and dairy, nuts for me as well), actually caused me to keep weight on. I will warn against eating the gluten-free processed foods. Like all processed foods, they have... -

				ARCHIVED Menstrual Problems
Looking for answers replied to dube's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Oh goodness, yes, but I can't say they've completely resolved. They got about 80% better after going gluten-free, about 90% better after getting treated for adrenal fatigue, and are nearly gone after starting sublingual vitman B. -

				ARCHIVED Has Anyone Tried Naltrexone?
Looking for answers replied to jasonD2's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
No, but I've heard praise of it from Dr. Mercola. I'm actually planning on visiting a Wellness Center soon based on the fact that they offer this as part of the treatment process. I would suggest you go to mercola.com and search for it. He wrote an article on it a while back and it might provide some insight. -

				ARCHIVED New Symptom Kinda
Looking for answers replied to conniebky's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I've seen your posts on here and know you've been under distress. Could it possibly be anxiety? My poor sister is also Celiac as am I, and whenever we eat out, she gets so nervous about reactions that she shakes and has to go to the restroom to calm herself down. She has several foods she actually has anaphylactic shock from, so eating for her is so challenging... -
