  1. Your cake looks yummy, Karen! How did you get it decorated like that? Beautiful pic, mytummyhurts! Looks like your baby is kissing the camera! Ajlauer, Melanie is adorable!
  2. The adhesives on medical tapes and bandaids take the skin right off me. Try using some of that stretchy stuff that sticks to itself but not skin. Athletes use it to wrap their limbs and ankles. It's not an ace bandage, it's not reusable, I don't know what it's called, but you can find it in the store next to the ace bandages.
  3. Hey! I can say Kinnikinnick 10 times without making a mistake! I must be a real good celiac!! You know you're a celiac when someone else complains of ibs, and you tell them to quit eating gluten!
  4. Check the ingredients of the funfetti: the last one I looked at had wheat in the candies. Frosted cakes don't freeze well, the frosting makes the cake soggy when it warms up a little bit. I don't know how it would do on an ice cream cake, since the cake has to be kept cold.
  5. Because this is specifically looking for a dermatologist, I pinned it here. If it does not belong, please move it!
  6. I know that mine this week is my period. From the very beginning of it, I would pack on 5 lbs literally overnight just 2 or 3 days before my period started. When it was all over, the 5 lbs was gone, too. I was very careful about what and how much I ate last week, (especially after the pancake shock!! ), and I did my exercising, so I am wondering if would...
  7. Since it has to go in the mouth and nose to be swallowed, you might also try some dust masks from the hardware store. He could play cops and robbers with his mask on! Seriously, I use them to keep pollens out of my sinuses when I am outside. It cut my need for allergy meds by 2/3!
  8. "C" here. Most definitely "C"!

    ARCHIVED Allergist Or Gi?

A GI would order bloodwork for you. Start there. I went to an allergist, sent by my doc, and it was a waste of my money and time. Every food thing I mentioned, he said was an intestinal issue, and not an allergy. Then he said "just don't eat it, you can live without it." Definitely start with the GI doc.
  10. I thought I replied on this a couple of days ago, but could not find it! When I went to my notepad, I found where I had started it, but not finished, then I remember that my husband was harrassing me that day, and I just wasn't in the mood for it, so I saved on my notepad to finish later! Here it is: I never did have the classic symptoms of celiac disease...
  11. I live in southeast Kansas, with wheat fields all around. I do not worry about the harvest for myself, as I know not to put anything in my mouth (including my fingers!) without washing it off first. However, for a child, it is very different! Kids like to eat outside, and I would worry about the grain dust getting on the food, then being eaten. Keeping...
  12. Keep posting the links, celiac3270. I keep checking in and reading them, too!

    ARCHIVED Migraines

It is a bummer to give up the foods we love to eat! My favorite breakfasts were eggs overeasy with toast, and oatmeal with toast. Now I can't have any aspect of either one! Here's to healthier us's!
  14. I took it to mean that she found a company that could help others with prescription prices, and was passing the info along. I really appreciate it!

    ARCHIVED Godfathers

How did they manage it? Did you provide the flours, or did they?
  16. Start: 199 Goal: 179 Current: 201 No loss, no gain. Since this week is menses, and I always bloat real bad, I will take it as a good thing that I did not gain! I am tired of trying and not getting any results, but I know I must continue onward, or I will never succeed!
  17. Thank you Kaiti! I don't use the paste, so it will not be a problem for me!

    ARCHIVED Migraines

    ARCHIVED Pre-diagnosis

I am interested in learning more for the benefit of my daughters. Although, at this point, female and fertility issues have not been a problem for my family. We women seem very able to very easily have babies!
  20. When I went to church, everything seemed to center around food. Ladies meetings were buffets, dinners after service, parties at restaurants. The ladies would only go to Pizza Hut, then wonder why I wouldn't go with them. Even after explaining it to them 25 times, they still didn't get it. I think maybe they don't *want* to get it.
  21. {{{hugs, Mel}}} to feel better soon!
  22. Something I have done instead of frosting is to "dust" gluten-free confectioner's sugar over a devil's food cake. It adds a touch of flavor without overwhelming the tastebuds.

    ARCHIVED Pre-diagnosis

Not me. I never had "female" problems, other than horrible menstrual cramps.
  24. Can you list the ingredients for us, so we can see what you are talking about? It will help to avoid confusion.
  25. I wonder if this would have anything to do with all of the hormones that rage through us, and especially in regards to having babies! I'm thinking of how pregnancy throws some autoimmune disorders into remission.
