  1. The Walmarts around me don't have a grocery section but the one in Marysville does and they do have a gluten-free section.
  2. Hmmm... I have tried rice milk in potatoes, but didn't much care for it. I do put it in stuffed baked potatoes. But recently I have been doing potatoes for faux pierogies and find that they are really good with just Nucoa mixed in. Do you think it would work with green beans? Daughter can't have peas.
  3. Oooh! Those gluten-free wraps look good! I bought chickpea flour for some recipe but I've since lost it. Now I know what I can do with it.
  4. Too much else we're allergic to, but thanks!
  5. Too much else we're allergic to in there, but thanks!
  6. Huh. Never would have thought mashed potatoes would work in there. I have used potato flakes to add to soup and biscuits. Not sure about gluten-free biscuits but makes regular biscuits really tender.
  7. Potatoes and onions! Two of my favorite foods! And your cat looks a lot like mine!
  8. Yikes! That seems pretty expensive! Or maybe I'm just cheap.
  9. Most microwave popcorn is in fact very bad for you. You can get some plain popcorn with no oil, salted or unsalted that is not bad for you. Bearitos is one brand and so is Garden of Eatin'. There is another. Farmer something or other. I want to say Farmer Steve.
  10. I was given one as a gift. Haven't used it in my van and probably won't. Have used it in the garage for soda. The thing is, they do not keep cold like a refrigerator would. They all seem to cool a certain number of degrees cooler than the outside temp. So for me that meant cool but not cold soda. It also helps if the food/drink you put in it is cold...
  11. Thanks!
  12. I liked pea butter. Daughter did not. She will eat sunflower seed butter. I don't much like it. She did like almond butter but is now allergic. Some people say soynut butter is good, but we avoid soy. One mix that we both like is cashew/macadamia. Neither of us like straight cashew butter. Just too rich tasting.
  13. I gave up on most gluten-free baking. My bread just never came out. I do use the recipe for zucchini bread that is on this site. It works. Brownies usually work. I've done a few other things like foccacia, bread in a bowl (microwave) and crackers. Namaste mixes. But for the most part my baking doesn't work.
  14. I'm pretty sure I know what is causing it. We had a traumatic incident when she was about 3. I don't really want to get into it here though.
  15. Thanks.
  16. Yes. Can't have soy or eggs. I'm pretty sure veganaise has soy in it. I will look it up. Yep. Open Original Shared Link Soy protein. We do occasionally have stuff with soybean oil in it. I don't really want to but it's the most common oil in restaurants. But for sure no soy protein. Messes with my thyroid. I have tried alternate recipes...
  17. Okay. I have done chicken breasts and potatoes before. Was okay but kind of bland. I've never tried pesto, but I'm not too keen on garlic.
  18. She knows how to rotate, but just doesn't do it. She does not seem to understand that all foods of a certain kind need to go together. She does a similar thing with her toys. I bought her all these bins to help organize, yet she always wants to put things loose on the shelf in random order. Drives me nuts! I also do think she's a hoarder. I noticed...
  19. No room in the freezer so I can't do that. I don't usually buy in bulk at the grocery store, but I was doing it with cereal I guess. Especially if it was hard to find or on sale.
  20. Even if the ice cream itself is gluten-free, you'd have to consider cross contamination. If they are touching wheat based cones to the machine, it could have cross contamination. And there have been reports here of some ice cream places training their employees to fill cones, then dump the ice cream back in the machine. I can't say for sure that this happens...
  21. I used to take Swanson's. You can get them online. I don't see any gluten listed, but gluten isn't a problem for me so I never checked.
  22. My daughter has additional food allergies, so I am always looking for things she can eat that are on sale so I can stock up. I also have to mail order a lot of her food and to save on postage, I stock up there too. Seems I always have a lot of old, bad food! We keep most of her food separate in some bins an on a shelving unit. Part of my problem is...
  23. I make something like that but with a tomato base.
  24. I'd be afraid to have something on my back porch. For one thing, it would be so heavy it might bust through the old boards! For another, someone would probably steal the food. Nothing seems safe here!
