    Enterolab will tell you all the beta chains but not the alpha chains. Kimball I think will only tst for DQ2 or 8 but will check for alpha chains I think. Those not positive for DQ2 or 8 need the enterolab test to find out if they areDQ5,6, 7 or 9 or 4, I think. I have not seen anyone posting with results form Kimball that they have half a DQ2 gene, though...

    About the EFT, I did google it and then found teh emofree website and there is a free pdf and newsletters. I have an acupuncture book I picked up on a sale and I looked up all the eft spots and meridians and they are where they are supposed to be.     Mistyping does happen, especially if they use serotyping. The wikipedia article explains more about that.     Those are not celiac gene tests, but the antireticulin test is sometimes done but the ttg and antigliadin tests and the EMA are the standard celic tests together with total IGA.     You can upload all your links (favourites) onto google bookmarks. i have google toolbar installed both in IE and firefox and you put in the button for google bookmarks there. That way you have access to your bookmarks from different places.

    I was thinking about another problem: Enterolab is not testing the alpha chains, just the beta chains, and thus they may miss the half DQ2 gene that is 0501 in the alpha chain (DQA1 0501) check out thefooddoc's blog where he srites about it in selverl entries.     I think the doctor is sending her for the pill cam (go and check for pill cam on the net....) to see if there is anything else going on. Just to be sure.     Could possibly mean that it means that there are the different risk DQ2 involved. Notte that they did not differentiate between the different DQ2 genes by calling them 2,2 or 2,5 yet. That seems to be quite new. But they must mean that (I think). They probably assume that the only ones reading this are other scientists who are experts in celiac genes....

Sometimes labs are cryptic.... the reference range means the population refernce range, and that means that when they take 100 people, and take away the results from the top 2,5% and bottom 2,5% tis results in the refernce range.     I just read at the www.thefooddoc.com site that some labs miss the celiac genes because they do not test the apha chains, thus missing the half DQ2 genes that some have there. He lists which labs do the whole test. nora

    About how long it takes before the bumps show up, I read this can be any time from very soon to a few weeks, making tracking down glutening/ iodine really difficult and confusing. Also, I keep reading ibuprofen (NSAIDS) are not good when one has celiac or DH or neuro symptoms from gluten or IBD. I can feel my gut gets leaky from NSAIDS or glutening...

    There are several DQ1 celiacs on the forums, and there are some that are very gluten-sensitive without the diagnosis. If you search for Dr.Hadjivassiliou's research on the net, then you can notice that about 20% og the gluten ataxia patients are DQ1. nora

    Hi, I cook and bake everything gluten-free here but partner is not gluten-free. He has bread in the kitchen. I have to wipe everything down before I use the kitchen, but he kinda keeps the gluten stuff in one place. i definitely cannot bake anything with wheat flour, not even putting the wheat-based flour mix into the kitchen machine outside...tried that...
