I have also seen a huge drop in "overuse" inflamatory type injuries. I have been running again for 3.5 years (ran my whole life until my early 20's when I had NO energy, picked it up again after regaining energy on low carb diet). I struggled with shin splints, muscle strains, hip flexor issues-you name it I had it at one time or another. I went Gluten...

This is the response I got from Senor Sweets in Cabos San Lucas. This is our FAVORITE place in Cabos, so I am very excited that I can eat there. Especially the Gelatos. "Thank you for your e mail. If you spend any time on the running forums, you quickly learn that this is not an issue only celiacs. A lot of non-celiac runners have digestive problems. Some of it relates to the body's reaction to high threshold excerise, especially running. As far as recovery carbs. I LOVE Endurox and Accellerade, but they both contain soy and I am soy free....

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Else Hate The Activia Commercials?
zkat replied to cgilsing's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
OOOOHHHH, I just LOVE it when other people have the same soap box issues as me! It is not very often that you find other people who believe that dairy is bad for you! No other species drinks the milk of a different species and humans are the only ones who continue to drink milk after infancy. I dislike all milk commercials! -

This is my husband's Nanny's recipe. It has been a family favorite for years and I was delighted to find out it can easily be made gluten free Corn Bread Stuffing Bake 2 cornbreads-I follow the directions on the back of the cornmeal package. Boil a regular cut up chicken until tender. Remove chicken from broth. Chop some celery and onion... -
Open Original Shared Link It is owned and run by a lady here locally. I support her every chance I get-cause I don't want her to go away She is really an outstanding baker. Her entire resturant and store is Gluten Free. She will also modify to just about anything free you need-dairy, soy, etc. My staff is actually getting me a gluten free cake...

I had my first seizure at 19. I was on Dilantin for years and I always thought it was terrible (in hind sight the majority of my complaints were from undiagnosed celiac-not the Dilantin). I was switched to Tegretol-didn't have many problems on it, but it always made my stomach cramp. I went Gluten free in Jan. and also weened of my seizure meds. I have...

I live in the N. Texas area and there is a Gluten free bakery close by. She makes the best Gluten Free graham crackers and that is what I used. You could also sub with Gluten free vanilla wafers or gluten-free chocolate wafer cookies. I have seen the recipe with both. It is really, really good if you like coconut. My husband wants everything with...

I am delving into gluten-free baking, because I think it just tastes better. There is a thread on here about the best homemade bread ever and it really is good. Open Original Shared Link I have modified the recipe some. I use Coconut flour instead of rice flour, Sorgham instead of bean flour and you almost have to double the liquid because of the...

One of my co-workers was talking about this to die for cheesecake, made out of Mounds Bars. I am searching for some holiday recipes, so I did a google search for this. It only required one modification and tasted so good. The crust was a crumbly, so I will probably use 8 T. of butter next time. It also makes a HUGE cheesecake, so you can easily half...

Paleo diet and the Paleo diet for athletes delves into PH levels of food and how they impact the body. The website is Paleodiet.com Human Blood is slightly alkaline with an optimal pH of 7.35-7.45. This site is helpful, but I will not swear by it's reputation. Open Original Shared Link

The one place I have not got to respond yet is my DH's favorite place- Senor Sweets. They have the best ice cream in the world. I need to e-mail them again. If I can get a response before your trip, I will let you know.

We are going to Cabos over New Year's and I have really had a good expierence on getting resturants to talk to me about what I can eat. Cabo Wabo-Owned by Sammy Hagar-list all ingredients on line. Panchos- Here is the response "The Chef Bernard has recommended that you also be checked for allergies to Corn (as this is a grain as well), just to be...

I agree on the calorie count. I usually eat there on Fri's before a soccer game when I need the extra calories, if I go any other time I get the salad or eat half and save the other half for a different meal You can count on about 200 calories per item (rice, beans, meat, guac, sour cream cheese etc. It all adds up quickly)

The small tortillas are NOT gluten free. You have to order a bowl or a salad or crispy corn tacos. The chips are fine. I eat them about twice a week and have never had a problem. Open Original Shared Link

I sub hemp or almond milk 1 for 1 in all recipes and have never had a problem. I make the best gluten free bread recipe from this site and use hemp instead of regular milk and it turns out for me.

I have a breadman ultimate and love it. If you choose to buy one, make sure it has gluten free or custom settings. I use the custom. Now, to high jack the thread-Tom-is that Picasso's Pizza in AZ on your avatar? You are making my mouth water and turning me green with envy. I haven't had any since Jan. and oh I miss it! Kat.

I tolerate several prepackaged gluten free items as well, but only in the case of an emergency because I do not like them that much. I have found that if I make it myself, it is so much better tasting. The hardest part for me was not adding flour to the batter while it was mixing. This was my first attempt at gluten-free bread, so I am used to making sure...

ARCHIVED Glutino Pizza Crust And Tinkyada Pasta
zkat replied to Joni63's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
For pizza crust I really like Namaste. You just add a few ingredients and it is ready. It has never been gooy inside, and my husband LOADS it with toppings! They also make a killer brownie mix that is to die for. I have not tried the other products, but so far I have not been dissappointed. I am not much help on the pasta, I have trouble too. Kat... -
I set it for the following: Warm-10 min Knead-18 min Rise 1 off Rise 2 off Rise 3 55 min Bake 55 min. During the knead, I watch it to make sure it all gets mixed in well and at the end of the rise, I shape the dough so it looks like a loaf I am going to try it this weekend with substituting 20% of the coconut flour and adding 20% more liquid...
