  1. Well, the Chebe was rather easy to bake. It calls for a certain amount of cheese, which I used mostly cheddar and a little fresh grated romano, it smelled wonderful, tasted wonderful.....
  2. I second getting a blood panel for nutrients done, and maybe sarting now with some Vitamin B, since everyone with Celiac seems to feel better taking it.
  3. No, if your bloodwork says you have Celiac, then you have Celiac, period. There are no false positives. Just because they happened to take samples from currently undamaged portions of your intestinal lining is no reason to discount your positive diagnosis. How long ago did you get this blood work?
  4. Actually, the cheapest way to get Chebe is to order online a case of 'no-frills' stuff, you have to measure out the mix but it's cheaper.
  5. I'm 23........... It's been accepted in the family that Julie isn't allowed to do math, pay bills, or drive much when she's been glutened........
  6. I clench too, and the muscles in my head and neck are not pleased by it. Oddly enough, when I;m getting adjusted regularly by the Chiropracter, I don't do it. I have a chiro who does soft tissue adjustment as well, she'll actually stick her finger in my mouth and push on the joint, which hurts UNBELIEVABLY but makes me stop clenching!
  7. I do that too!!!! I hate it, because you freak out in the dream that you're gonna feel so crappy. And to top it off, this past weekend we thought I might have taken a bite of something supiscious, so we're a bit nervous right now, although I don't feel glutened, so I guess it's ok. But for the past two nights my boyfriend has had horrible dreams of my getting...
  8. Also, if you send a private message to a member called NoGluGirl, she has a list of brands and products that's pretty current.
  9. Holy crap that sounds good! We're having that for dinner! (I'm backward, dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner)
  10. Alright, I haven't had a bloody hamburger bun in three years, well, a good one I mean. (Don't try the Whole Foods gluten-free Bakehouse ones, they're awful) But last night! I made the Chebe cheese bread, and took two balls of dough and flattened them out about three & 1/2 inches wide and only 1/2 inch high, and made them with part romano cheese and part...
  11. I would guess that it's for fiber and texture. Do you just not like it?
  12. I used to get night sweats too. Also, even just a year ago I would get glutened and it would only last a few days, maybe a headache and some D. Now, it lasts a whole month! And I get symptoms I never had when I was sick, like I become lactose intolerant for a little while when I've been glutened, and that never happened before, usually dairy is soothing to...
  13. If those spots are also itchy they may be Dermatitis Herpetiformis, which is indicative of current contamination with gluten. If they go away after a few days or weeks once you're out of the farmstand, then you know you were getting glutened in some way. You may want to check everything in the house again too, you know, colanders, stirring spoons, anything...
  14. That sounds awful. Has that been happening ever since you went gluten-free? What's the frequency of it? It occurred to me you may have some kind of intestinal blockage, I don't know whether Celiac can cause enough damage to have pain like that when you're gluten-free. Ulcer, maybe?
  15. Nature's Valley? It has no oats in it? Wow! I like the Kind bars too, the apricot one has crispy rice in it and it's like a real granola bar! The one with dates in it doesn't say gluten-free on it, so I haven't tried it.
  16. The only suggestion I have is to take the pan once you've poured the batter in and drop it on the counter from about six inches up a few times, to shake out air bubbles. And maybe refridgerate the batter first, does that make sense to anyone else? Would that keep it from rising at all? And for the chocolate roll, try using a towel to roll it up instead of...
  17. I like cinnamon raisin bread with cream cheese on it, or scrambled cheesy eggs, or oddly enough I love having bean dip for breakfast, just salsa, sour cream, and refried beans. I also made these biscuits the other day, they were so easy and they were really good, and would probably set up quite well with sorghum flour. Here's the recipe, my boyfriend had...
  18. My only concern is prejudiced life insurance companies when I get older. If I don't have a diagnosis, they can't hold it against me, haha.
  19. WHOO BOY do I get GI symptoms on my period!!! MY boyfriend even teases me about it at this point. And it's been happening for years now, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the drug your system releases to cause the contraction of the uterus also affects the bowels. I've noticed that the more difficult a woman's cramps, the more diarrhea she gets...

    ARCHIVED No More D

Yes, psyllium is safe as far as I know, I had a product with it in it confirmed gluten-free to me once. It probably would help. And drink more water when you take it, like a real whole lot of water, or it will not feel good.
  21. Actually, that happened to me all my life until almost a year after going gluten-free. It doesn't help that I have the fastest metabolism ever heard of, but I personally think it has to do with vitamin deficiency. I used to just feel hungry no matter what, unless I ate McDonald's oddly enough. (before gluten-free) Since I started taking a B vitamin complex...
  22. Is there some medical reason I'm not aware of to get an official diagnosis? I'm self-diagnosed, is there anything about that that's somehow dangerous to me? I'm always counseling people just to try going gluten-free, if you feel better, then hey! there's your answer. Am I wrong?
  23. I have a few favorites. Not sure what to call it, but I use spaghetti squash a lot instead of pasta, and this is the recipe I use. 2 sweet onions 2lbs ground meat of choice 1 large spaghetti squash 3 cloves garlic 2 jars spaghetti sauce I bake the spaghetti squash for 45 min to an hour, til soft, although you can steam it too, I just don't have...
  24. I had that for dinner two nights ago! I love that stuff! I'm going to try recreating the mix with just tapioca flour at home, I need to start cutting back on my food budget....
