  1. I make a soft sweet honey bread that's yeasted, I'll try and find it and post it when I get a chance. Very soft, bun-like honey sweetened bread that's only a bread because I'm too lazy to scoop out buns, I just pour it in a pan!
  2. Ants on a log- celery with peanut butter and raisins on top. Don't kids still eat that?
  3. Hmmmm... I actually dealt with the 'horrible hungry' for quite some time before my other Celiac symptoms became apparent, I was only 'sick' for six months. I'm 5'7'' and was down to 105lbs at my sickest. After going wheat free (didn't know about gluten then) I immediately added on 15 lbs, and then when I figured out gluten a year or so later I added another...
  4. Are we about to have a boob contest, too? We never did decide who won the foot contest. I had insisted that the foot contest be a 'naked foot' contest, I don't think that's going to work with this one......
  5. I didn't mean the noise of growling, I meant I used to get a mean, angry growly 'feeling' in my stomach, a truly empty feeling that meant 'feed me', sort of a cramping of the stomach, almost like heartburn. I rarely get that now, I didn't eat enough yesterday so I've been getting it today. So how long have you been gluten free again? I ask because it can...
  6. HAHAH!!!! I hope to try these soon, I'll let you know!
  7. By hungry, I mean my stomach getting the growly-burny feeling of 'feed me'. I don't mean a craving, or anything else. My stomach has been failing to signal that it's empty, and then my body gets pissed at lack of fuel and I'll be shaky and weak, but still no hungry feeling in my stomach. It used to be 24-7, so it's kinda wierd. That's why I put myself on...
  8. Hmmmm....... For the baked stuff, try using a sorghum flour-heavy mix, with less starch, so that she can enjoy some. Sorghum is high protein. If you're looking to make something sweet, and she needs to watch the sugar, maybe you could look up recipes using agave nectar? It's very low on the glycemic index, and has a nice taste when coupled with certain things...
  9. Well, either you've started absorbing more nutrients and your digestive system is thus working better, or you've changed something about the food you're eating and so getting more of what you need. Either way, good for you! Glad you're getting some relief, I know what it's like to be that hungry all the time. I kinda broke my hungry? It sounds wierd, but...
  10. Yeah, with gluten/dairy free soft serve ice cream and gluten-free cones to boot! So far I've had a toffee crumble-coated chocolate disc, vanilla soft serve, and a chambord flavored caramel truffle. I'm sort of floating..... If there's any wine tonight, it'll be red.....
  11. Here I am!!!! We just went to a chocolate shop that's all gluten and dairy free and organic. The chocolate is HEAVEN. We got a whole pound of assorted handmade for only 20 bucks. I also picked up a stainless steel cookie sheet at the mall. We're about to go check out a band that my boyfriend's friend is in. I might even have a glass of wine!!!
  12. Maybe you could share the recipe? There's a bit of a pumpkin shortage in New England this year and I may be subbing squash at Thanksgiving!
  13. Could you type out the part that got switched to 'lame advertisement' and put spaces between the letters so we can see what it's supposed to be? The board does that automatically, they must have spammed us.
  14. Yeah, my family used to fight over the chocolate chip ones, all but the nutmeal raisin ones have soy though. The Trader Joe's ginger snaps are really delicious, but they have soy lecithin in them. For boxed cookies, I love the Glutino chocolate covvered wafers and the chocolate filled bites. No idea as to soy status, i don't have any in the house to...
  15. Yes, the first one is the pastry, the second one is an eggfree version of the pastry, and the third one is for the cream that goes inside. I'm just going to make vanilla pudding, I'm too lazy for that!
  16. Lemme think about the recipe, I will try and convert it for my curly friend! Now I'm going to go shower off my stinky butt.
  17. Hope you feel better soon, Slussinsky. Maybe try a more reliable restaurant next time? Dude, I just posted a recipe for double chocolat eclairs in the recipes section. Good luck resisting THAT one!
  18. I HAVE to try this!!!!! This is a double chocolate eclair recipe from a blog called Baking Love, here's the link to the post about the eclairs in full, it's longer than just the recipe below. Open Original Shared Link Double Chocolate Eclairs Pate a Choux 207 ml (7 ounces) water 1/2 teaspoon salt 78g (5 1/2 tablespoons) butter...
  19. Here's my personal experience, much like the original poster's. Say I'm going to bed at nine o'clock at night. If I have dinner at five (a normal time for most) and it's fish, broccoli, roasted potatos and corn, I'll be up all night from the hunger. I will be STARVING. Even if I ate two pounds worth of the food described. But, if I were to eat steak...
  20. I would put it this way- your body's pissed about something. You just never know how it's going to express it's anger. What's on the list of things you're doing that piss off your body?
  21. Yeah, kinnikinnick makes good donuts. I've had what you describe, around here (new england) we call them boston cream donuts, and they're round. Chocolate icing on top? Yeah, I miss those too. My only suggestions would be to get kinikinnick chocolate glazed donuts and dip them in vanilla pudding (they're REALLY good warm) or maybe find a gluten-free cream...
  22. HAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! Freudian slip much?
  23. A couple of faves are chicken breast in homemade honey mustard sauce (really easy, honey, mustard, garlic powder) and baked, or chicken legs with a pile of seasonings on top with a squeeze of lemon juice, baked. I stick sweet potatoes in the oven 45 minutes ahead if I have that much time to plan. Add salad and that was easy!
  24. Ummmm, where do you live? I've never heardof a 'longjohn', I'm guessing you mean donut? I'll be happy to help you look up a place near you that might have something relatively close! Would boston cream pie work?
