  1. Donna, You shouldn't really need a bandaid, I didn't put one on the first time...but now I do because my blood is really thin from the heparin, so the site bleeds a little bit. They aren't that bad to do on yourself. I do stare at the needle for about 45 seconds before I can do them though...lol!
  2. Ahhh!!! I just woke up and had the WORST dream EVER!!!! I am really freaked out, it was SSO real! I was going to die in a fire at a house up in the Hollywood hills.....omg, it was so scary! :( Ugh, stupid Lyme vivid dreams, I HATE these!!! I am so glad I'm awake now! Donna, LN is a little crazy, and people get pretty mean about things. I don't post...
  3. As far as dedicated facilities, I don't know of any other than Enjoy Life. Their snickerdoodle cookies are AMAZING!!! They have lots of great products. I don't think they have any flours, etc. but they have great cookies, etc. I hope others will chime in and help you!
  4. Man, LN can get really intense!!! Sheesh, people get really upset over things! I wonder if Lyme does that to the brain? LOL! Carla, do you think it's real that Dr. B is posting? Or do you think it's a set-up? April, Thanks. I did some research and I found out that only 2 out of the 13 strains of HPV are protected against by the vaccine...sorry, but...
  5. While we are on the note of vaccs, I asked a while ago about the HPV shot, and I was wondering what the cons of getting the shot are? I have never had any problems with shots, so would I have increased odds of being affected since I am "ill"? I had one already (in august I think) and I did fine with it...so why should I believe it would be a bad thing? ...
  6. I am not taking anything for my environmental allergies because I believe they are caused by something and I am treating the ROOT, not just the symptoms. I am not saying this is the case for everyone, but it is for me. Also, my allergist just wanted me to take more pharmaceuticals/meds and pump me with steroids, which is reallllllly bad for me because I have...
  7. Rachel, I am not a mommy either, but I do have a couple things to say about this. I don't know a lot about mercury toxicity, etc. but I do know that I had all my "regular" vaccs when I was a kid because the school district I'm in was VERY strict about having all of my vaccs up to date. I never had any problems with any of them. I was NEVER given...
  8. Fiddle Faddle, I believe you are right about the healing/results part of the diet. One of the members on this board had a GS because of Lyme disease, and since she has healed her gut (with treatment), she can now eat anything she wants. I have no idea if I will experience the same thing, since Celiac was dx'd in my family. I know there are some Celiacs...
  9. I'd be careful with taking 3 pills at once...yikes! My dr. once had me take 2 pills a day to stop my bleeding, and that was awful for me! I had terrible symptoms, so I couldn't imagine ever taking 3 pills at once. I bet that's why you had symptoms.
  10. Paula, I don't really have ideas for food since I am always out of food ideas, but I found a site with tons of recipes that may be helpful to anyone on a Candida diet. The site isn't specifically for candida, but a lot of the stuff would be suitable for a candida diet. Look through, but remember not everything is allowed. Open Original Shared Link
  11. I just wanted to say a couple of things, 1. Enterolab does NOT diagnose Celiac disease...they can only tell you that you are reacting to gluten! (I didn't know that and ordered it only to find out that they couldn't diagnose me!) 2. I have come to believe that the difference between a Celiac and GS person is that the Celiac should eventually get better on...
  12. Good for you...at least you're starting at something! I have not even tried to watch what I eat...ugh. Getting nauseous really throws me for a loop...afterall, who wants to eat chicken and veggies when you feel like puking...lol! YAY! You made plans and had fun! Everyone, I had a terrible night's sleep! Ugh...I fell asleep at about...
  13. Well, I, like many others don't really do new year's resolutions, but I have one main goal this coming year: GET MY HEALTH BACK!!! That is my main focus because last year (2007...sounds so weird to say "last year"...lol!) I had a lot of health problems, and I am hoping that this year will bring lots of good health and lots of answers to many unanswered...
  14. Happy New Year to Everyone!!!
  15. Susie, Julie AND Rachel, I LOVE ALL the movies you mentioned!!! My mom and I ended up going to Target she bought me: Love Actually (we used to have it, but my brother hid it because I used to watch it ALL the time! Now I can torture him again! ) 13 going on 30 Never Been Kissed with Uptown Girls (they came in a 2-pack kinda thing)...
  16. I babysit a family who has 4 kids who are all gluten eaters and as long as I clean my hands really well, I am totally fine. I made sugar cookies for example with them the other week and I had the oldest measure out the flour and mix it in the dough so I wouldn't have to be near it. Then once the "flour dust" settled, I went back in and helped. If you...
  17. Another thing Paula, I just got a book of slow cooker recipes and out of about 100 I can have some of them. If you'd like, I can post them in the recipe section of the forum. I don't know if you do okay with cooked onions and garlic? Sorry, I don't remember.
  18. Paula, As far as going vegan...I went raw vegan and I decided that I really do need animal protein. When I was doing the raw diet, I would find myself drooling over chicken! LOL! I never would have thought such a thing would make me drool, but it sure did! LOL!
  19. Carla, I think he suspeted babs and my allergies, he said no doxy to start. They did say later, if we want, we can challenge the abx allergies with a bottle of benadryl and epi-pen in hand...lol. I think I am allergic to something in the same "family" of doxy...hence the zith to start with. I wonder if nausea classifies as a herx...lol! If it does...
  20. Carla, So there is hope for more herx? LOL!! I am so worried I am going to wake up tomorrow feeling like death...lol! I wonder if a lot of people do have bad herxes on just Zith alone? Hmmm... Also, is there any "typical" amount of time one can herx? Paula, That's great your hubby is supportive!
  21. I don't mean to really confuse you even more, but I don't think allergy testing would do you much good. If you don't have an anaphylactic reaction to food, and they do "true" allergy testing, nothing will show up. I was going through what you're going through and I went to an allergist and he did tests and we found out I have all kinds of environmental...
  22. I'm kinda annoyed at this abx challenge because I just kinda want to herx already and get it over with! The PA said it would happen on day 4-5 which was about a week ago...and other than the one day of really bad air hunger and weakness, I haven't herxed (maybe I should be saying this...lol, it's probably like Donna with the bandaid itching!). I took...
  23. Paula, I believe that symptoms worsening after eating is a sign of candida. I could be wrong though.
  24. A lot of people on this board think that your positive results would be enough to stay off of gluten. Ultimately you have to decide how important a diagnosis is. The one thing I really regret is not waiting to go gluten free, but I had other pressing health problems that forced me to do it, so... OH WELL! If you want a better chance of getting positive...
  25. It sounds like the fruits you are eating in the morning may be causing some of your tummy troubles. I know melons and dried fruit are very problematic for a lot of people. Also, pineapple KILLS my stomach, so that could be a problem also. Good luck!
