  1. Sara it is so exciting that your treatment is working! Carla welcome back! Sure hope this improvement holds---and that it becomes more widely available soon! Sherry
  2. Paula I think Vit D is a crucial piece. It dramatically impacts the immune system. This should be covered by your insurance. Sherry
  3. Yes it is a severe problem. People are drinking milk again, so supposedly the problem is better. My C problem is finally resolved after adding back in big doses of magnesium and Vit C. I had to do this after gluten-free and then gradually decreased over a matter of months. Apparently my recent gluten exposure triggered this problem. The bloating...
  4. So you still have all the co-infections. Will you go back on all your meds? Or take this info to your LLMD and go from there? Sherry
  5. I had gradually improved on GFSF but not entirely. I started out with huge doses of magnesium and Vitamin C every do to go. Gradually was able to cut back. Then another jump of improvement after going on the SCD last July. Then I had a frustrating return of symptoms. I finally discovered I had been using cinnamon that was contaminated with flour and...
  6. Actually so far it is one brand of eggs that has been identified that were exported from my town to Hong Kong. So hard to know how widespread it is. I am not sure whether to avoid all eggs or just assume that everything I eat is contaminated and eat them in moderation.
  7. So, is ten the max number of treatments Dr. W uses, Carla? So like if you were there for 5 weeks you could complete all you need?
  8. Rachel, that's what I am taking. Pure GSH, I draw it right out of the vial for my IM injections. Everyone, looking back I can now say I think with confidence that the SCD has been successful in terms of bringing some stability. I still have symptoms but can keep functioning through the day and haven't had any periods where I was down flat except the...
  9. Eggless desserts? Just tried the Almond Honey Crisps in the BTVC book, and love them. They are sticky so I think using parchment paper will work the best. Also I like it spread thin, as it gets crispier. I tried it as a pie crust and it tasted good but gets soft. So I made an apple crisp with it, putting the AH crisp recipe spread over the top of the...
  10. I got worse after gluten-free too, but the reason I knew I was on the right track was that on day 10 and for ten days after, I had normal bm's--like I had never had in my life. I think that gluten was attacking my system and over the years the body's response had sort of deadened. Once I stopped eating gluten, many more issues started coming to light. ...
  11. Rachel, wow!!!! It is so great that you have the clear answers here! I like the sounds of the plan as well, and that it is apt to start soon. Hopefully tomorrow right away you can get your enzymes ordered and then your appointment with Anna. I sure hope the GSH works for you. My guess is that I may have some genetic issues too, but I think what we...
  12. Thanks, Nora. This is encouraging. Sherry
  13. I use zithromax and it really helps. The artemisinin and enula are not enough to keep the symptoms down. I tolerate it very well. I buy mine over the counter here (it is Pfizer too) and it is cheaper. I pay about $10 for 6 250 mg pills. Sherry
  14. What I remember about pumpkin seeds is that they cause numbing or paralysis to tapeworms so they will let go of the wall of the gut. Then bromelain from pineapple can kill them. I don't recall specifics about other parasites.
  15. My best wishes and thoughts to Donna as well, hoping everything goes really well and recovery is swift.
  16. About the honey, I read an explanation by Elaine I think. Yes it has disaccharides but it is something about the percentage or some other quality that makes it work okay. I can't remember the details, sorry.
  17. Mia, you are right, not everyone has the negative biopsy so quickly after gluten-free, however, many do. Apparently the more visible damage repairs quickly once gluten-free.
  18. Mia, thanks. I don't think it is the yogurt, rather everything right now is making me bloat, even broth. Today is my "herx" after adding in the antibiotic on Sunday (for 2 weeks)--the flu like symptoms that come after killing lyme. I'll see what happens after that. Many of these infections are notorious for NOT showing up on tests. I have had negative...
  19. European strains of borrelia are different, right? Maybe co-infections too.
  20. I was reading Scott's blog and I thought Dr. W's surprise about his antibiotic therapy pretty funny. Looks like Scott was diagnosed in 2005. I wonder what Dr. W would think about my 8 years on abx?? ROFL. Carla, it will be interesting to see what happens with your next treatment coming at this point in your lyme cycle. Sherry
  21. April, fantastic!! I haven't done the 1/2 and 1/2, I can't get anything like that here. It sure sounds good. Shay, so does your coconut cream but I don't dare try it Paula, good for you!!! Preparation ahead of time is really important so you have enough food for your days on intro when you could very well have die off/detox (you know what that...
  22. Yay! And here's hoping there is NO relapse either! Sherry
  23. Hi Mia, I have been eating plain baked squash, and that is what I am wondering about not agreeing with me. It is the only thing I have been eating that is different the last several days and I am seriously bloating. Could be something else causing the problem though. The apple cider refers to pressed apple juice with nothing added that has the pulp...
  24. Carla, it was interesting on the blog where you talk about overestimating how you feel. I realize that I often rate how I feel by how much I can do. So a good day is when I can work all day. I am probably never without symptoms, its just how bad they are.
  25. Pele, I am thinking of doing that custard as well but with yogurt added so it is more like a regular pumpkin pie recipe. Not yet though. I might not be handling squash as well as I'd like.
