  1. Hi, thanks Rachel for posting this. I saw this "preferentially remove" idea also on my google search. I think this might be what my doctor told me when I asked him about it 2-3 years ago. I know that my current supplement does not contain copper and he chose it based on several tests. This explanation makes sense. Also the toxicity symptoms for copper...
  2. Here's further information I just received from Clinique: Clarifying Lotion 1 contains: alcohol denat. (various grains); soy (glycerin, processing aid for sodium hyaluronate); corn (trehalose) City Base Compact Foundation 01 pale contains - corn (aluminum starch octenylsuccinate) Naturally Gentle Eye Makeup Remover contains - corn (arginine)
  3. Hello, and welcome to this board. Your pain description sounds almost exactly like mine. It is from lyme disease. Have you had that tested? There are others on this board with both lyme and celiac or gluten intolerance. They will tell you that the only lab to have the test is Igenix. Many doctors are not aware of lyme and how to treat. Or they have...
  4. Hello everyone. I have been out of town, managed to skim the posts but the computer wouldn't let me login and post. I made a few notes as I went along... Thanks for the info on xylitol, I checked by googling the Chinese name for xylitol and it looks like it is corn derived at least some of the time. Fiber options: Have you considered pharmeceutical...
  5. Hi Burdee, I don't have access to HCL here, so wanted to try this. I am up to 1250 mg of magnesium oxide a day, (taken in the evening by itself), but so far not much help. I don't have reflux, just trying to get my intestines to eliminate regularly. I also don't have hard stool, just don't go. Is this the vinegar dose that might work for constipation...
  6. Can you tell us the milligrams of tumeric and how much you take? I am wondering if you can just use the spice preparation instead of pills.
  7. I don't know. Maybe ask in a new thread as people who don't use Clinique might not view the thread here. Somebody probably knows. I think it is pretty likely the grain is wheat, corn or barley.
  8. I just know when I stopped using it, I had a clear improvement in the "ups and downs" that I had at first going gluten free. Good luck.
  9. Elimination diets work very well. Where it gets tricky is when a person is allergic to many or most foods. The other place it gets tricky is that you can have varied levels of sensitivity. So if you eliminate it then rechallenge it you might not test positive right away. So you have to figure out if you can eat it, and then how often you can eat it...
  10. Hi Jin. At this point I wouldn't mind the diarrhea. If it worked, I could just cut back a little and actually have some normal days. I don't know. It brings the lyme out of cystic form, but I think it also eliminates it to some degree. I would guess it might be a combo of causes. No not really,...
  11. There are so many causes of fatigue. So just one idea: what about beefing up your regime to eliminate toxins? Like more water, probiotics, activated carbon to absorb toxins in your intestine. If you are dealing with the big C instead of the big D--a little extra help so you are eliminating every day? Also in the heat, electrolyte depletion perhaps...
  12. I think your doctor is not knowledgeable enough about celiac. He has classic signs of delayed growth plus the diarrhea. In addition his mother is a diagnosed celiac. The latter alone should point to the need for celiac screening. Yes the blood draw is traumatic, and yet it could be much easier for you to get respect from doctors if he was clearly diagnosed...
  13. Me, too. I have had IV DMPS challenge for my urine tests. Not aware of having any trouble. Last winter I felt sick afterward and didn't get better--thought it was the DMPS. But eventually I traced it to bismuth sensitivity. I had started h pylori treatment the day before the DMPS challenge, and was sick the whole time until I got off bismuth. I take...
  14. Hey, I hate to say this too quickly--but I think I am getting better since ABX treatment. Have increased the metronadazole to 400mg twice a day two days a week and have been okay on it. Next step is to do the two days together. Brain fog is quite a bit better the last several days. Still fatigued. Some pain but that's definitely better. I am being...
  15. Yes, I saw that thread too. What I felt bad about was that the original newbie poster felt attacked (and rightly so!) and said she realized she didn't belong on the forum. I saw no further posts from her.
  16. Rachel, thanks for all of this information and I will check it all out. Thanks I did get the email. Maybe just post the name of the book here? My zinc level wasn't low in the January lab results I have: 1.7 (range 0.1-2.0). And there is zinc but no copper in my current mineral supplement.
  17. Welcome and I am sorry you are going through this. I am not currently dealing with this, but many years ago did when my babies were little--they are now adults. My allergist is also a pediatrician and a good one. What I understand is that: food sensitivities can change over time. food sensitivities can develop when you eat too much of a food and then...
  18. Yes, the problem is that how do you keep from ingesting when it runs into your mouth in the shower? Or how do you keep your hands from touching your hair through the day, etc.? When it gets on your hands it often gets to your mouth. There seems to be a different degree of sensitivity among celiacs too. Although many report getting more and more reactive...
  19. Yep it is hard but if you want the tests to show something--heavy glutening is the way to go. Even then you might not have positive results but you already know the diet works so regardless of the test results sounds like that will be worth it for you. Let us know how the tests come out.
  20. Happy birthday Donna. Everyone: I'm trying to read the posts or at least skim them--just don't have energy to respond much right now. Jin, yes, somehow the copper is involved in the mix. I do wonder if it needs to be tested a different way though. I found this: I remember that before I left the USA in April, my doctor did another blood...
  21. k-amy, Kudos to you for taking the initiative both to ask advice from this board and seeking advice from enterolab. Yours is the first malabsorption result I have noticed on this board that is higher than mine. As I understand it, this result could have several reasons. I haven't had any gall bladder problems so far. My fat consumption was up the...
  22. I don't know. The little I could find on a google search was copper deficiency in lyme and in celiac. Sherry
  23. Thanks Jin. I'll check it out. I have hardly been around any wood as in Asia most building are cement. Just the furniture I have. I don't know that this would by itself explain my return of symptom because the copper was high in 2004 and 2007, not much change at all. Except in combo with other things like stopping ABX, going Gluten-free Casein-free...
  24. Try a health food store preparation of DGL (a form of licorice). I get mine in powder form from Beyond a Century. Really has helped with nausea and is very soothing and healing to the stomach lining.
  25. No I wish I knew. Someone sent me the name of some kind of hair loss treatment--but it looked like rogaine or something like that. I used to use Nioxin with good results but had to quit a few weeks ago when I found it all contained gluten (every product), and now am losing hair again.
