  1. Stoneyfield has inulin to help absorb calcium and some other bacterias and cultures that actually soothe my tummy and make me feel better. I'm just happy to have them and Yoplait on board.
  2. I have heard so much about the gluten-free status of Stoneyfield yogurt that I decided to try to get to the heart of the matter. Here is my correspondance with their dietician. On their website they mentioned the possiblity of trace gluten from a gluten derived stabilizer. Reading from the bottom of this email up, I hope that the matter is now resolved. I...
  3. I know exactly what you mean! This weekend we're going to the huge state Wine Festival and will be there most of the day. My husband casually mentioned last night, "what are you going to eat?" Then it hit me. My family would be eating at one of the many vandor booths there which are COMPLETELY off limits for me! He said, well you better pack a lunch box....
  4. My money is on the sausage. You never know what fillers they might put in. Hope you feel better soon!
  5. I have a dog and a cat and the cat's wet food is loaded with gluten. Her dry food isn't though. So, what I do is I have a purple sponge that is designated for cleaning their bowls and a section of the counter which is designated for fixing their food. I always wash my hands after feeding them and after giving them treats. I'm lucky that my dog is not a licker...
  6. Our company installed new hand cleaners recently that are mounted on the wall, white and say Gojo on them. What comes out is foam. So I googled Gojo and called them and asked about the gluten free status. She had me open the container and give her the name and the 4 digit code which she compared to a list of their gluten free products. She said mine was certified...
  7. Seeds of Change, Muir Glen, Green Mountain Gringo and Tostidos are all gluten-free. Giant's heathy brand Nature Made also is gluten-free. Many of these say gluten-free right on the bottle. Paul Newman's is also gluten-free.
  8. Saw Star Wars this weekend at Regal and enjoyed my popcorn without the butter sauce.
  9. I don't understand why we should go back to eating the diet that our earliest ancestors ate. Their lifespan was extremely short, possibly because they didn't get all the nutrients now available to us. I agree we eat too many processed foods and our healthiest diet is one of natural foods, but that includes (barring intolerances) corn, rice and gluten-free...
  10. Just wanted to report on a delightful dining experience this weekend. We went to the Blue Iguana located in Fair Lakes. The Chef came to the table to discuss my entree and prepared me salmon on Jasmine rice and wrapped in crispy rice noodles and watercress. It comes with a soy ginger sauce so he substituted a wine sauce. Afterwards he returned to the table...
  11. I use Giant Foods brand lite syrup and mix it with pure maple syrup. On the list of gluten-free Giant brand foods, their regular and lite pancake syrups were listed. Costco often has good deals on pure maple syrup as well.
  12. I reacted to the Ocean Spray Cranberry Light and read that only the regular Ocean Spray Cranberry juice is gluten-free. You might want to narrow it down to that. And, you should probably call them. Ingredients change. I haven't tried it again and it's been a year so maybe it's okay now. It wasn't a year ago.
  13. I use Lancome which is gluten free, but I still read the ingredients each time I buy anything new as you never know when they might change their formula. It is pricey though! I researched Estee Lauder and they give you a huge list with all these ingredients that can harbour gluten. They say to read their ingredients and compare it to the list. They own Bobbie...
  14. That was my thought exactly! And another thing that I wonder about is that these companies who say they list everything, do they mean they list everything that is a major allergen or everything they put in. Specifically barley worries me. It is in so many things and is not a major allergen and therefore may not be mentioned. Another that is iffy is vinegar...
  15. Thanks guys, Annies is wonderful and I found another Drews that says gluten free on the label. Of course, there's always homemade.....
  16. The 365 Veggie Chips in the bag are gluten-free and made by Whole Foods. I have eaten them but like the Eatsmart ones made by Snyder better. As you said yours are in a box, then they are not the ones on their list. Your hubby will enjoy, I'm sure...
  17. Here's my reply from Wishbone salad dressings. Guess I'll cross them and basically Unilever foods off my list. I had thought Unilever had full disclosure but after reading this, who knows what barley may be lurking?? Hello Terri, Thank you for writing. We apologize that we are unable to provide you with a list of gluten free products. Because...
  18. You will find a soy by product in many, many foods. I had rice milk with my cereal this morning and found soy letchin (sp) in that. Had it anyway and had terrible indigestion and gas. I had a Mi-del animal cookie last night and it has the same ingredient in it and, once again, I suffered. It's just very hard to find foods without it! If you have a soy allergy...
  19. I received the second reply from Yardley today. Here it is: Terri: I have checked with our regulatory consultant and he said that our Secret Cottage Body Washes and Lotions are also gluten free. Have a great day. Judy "Terri Collins" <TCOLLINS@nada.org> 04/26/2005 09:01 AM To: <info@yardleylondon.com>...
  20. Here is the answer I just got from Method soap. Hello there, thanks so much for taking the time to write to us! In response to your question regarding gluten, the good news is that all of our products are gluten-free, so you should be absolutely safe to use both our hand wash and dish soap without worry. Hope that information is helpful! If...
  21. I wrote to Yardley and they said their bar soap is gluten free. All varieties of it. I also wrote to Method soap about their liquid hand soap and dish detergent. I read the ingredients and there aren't any buzz words, but I want to be sure.
  22. I just returned from 10 days in Orlando. I did not go to Disney but downloaded the gluten free menu from Bahama Breeze which is on International Drive and ate there twice and ate at Chatam House Restaurant (wonderful). I understand that the Swan and Dolphin restaurant in their hotel will make gluten-free pancakes and french toast and all. I stayed at the...
  23. We were in Long Island this past weekend and I took my restaurant guide from the Silly Yaks website with me to find a place to eat. Cafe Baldo was listed in the area we were ( Wantagh) and it turns out the owner's wife is a Celiac! Outside they had Celiac awareness signs and gluten free signs. The pizza is made in a separate area completely from the kitchen...
  24. What's wrong with ground spices? I use McCormicks ground spices all the time.
  25. I received a very nice reply from Lonestar when I wrote them. Unfortunately it is at home and I am at work, but I remember they said to ask for the meat to not be jacarded or something like that. But they gave quite a few options for eating and said they hoped to see me soon.
