  1. Have you seen a dermatologist? Your doctor should not have told you to use this product. Open Original Shared Link Use to regrow hair on the top of the scalp (vertex only, see pictures) Warnings For external use only. For use by men only. Extremely Flammable: Avoid fire, flame, or smoking during and immediately following application. Do...
  2. Glad you got the lab slip and I hope she ordered the full panel as well as a total IGA. Your doctor sounds like a real jerk. With a bedside manner like that I would be looking for a new one.
  3. Welcome to the board. The first thing I am going to ask is if you have been tested for celiac. If you haven't it would be a good idea to get tested before you start the diet. You can call your doctor and ask for a lab slip for a celiac panel if your doctor has been aware of the problems you have been having. Once you have been gluten free even for a short...
  4. Do keep in mind that usually doctors only check for the two most common celiac associated genes. Just because you might not have those genes doesn't mean you might not be celiac. Also Enterolab testing, last I read, is not available to people living in NY. I was lucky and got my gene testing done through them before NY outlawed it.
  5. I don't know if this is doable for you but do you have a vacuum with a hose and extension wand? If you do you can take any kind of tube or tubes (maybe taped together empty paper towel rolls?) you can find to make it even longer. Then drag a table or a sturdy chair or two over to the area below them. Place the vacuum on the table and climb up or put each...
  6. I have ED also...I wonder if that is why I also have to have extra anesthetic. Talk to your doctor and explain that you have a resistance to anesthesia. Try not to worry as a trained anesthesiologist will be able to sedate you enough especially if they know in advance that you have resistance. As others have mentioned there are some folks who have had...
  7. Your doctor needs to know about his receptionists rudeness. If you are in the US you have a legal right to copies of all tests. Call back and ask to speak to a nurse and tell the nurse you will be coming in to pick up the results or ask the nurse to make sure they are mailed to you. Do you have an appointment scheduled for follow-up? If you do then talk to...
  8. Talk to your doctor about this fear. I have had 5 or 6 scopes. I have a twisted colon and they had to stop the colonoscopy the second to the last time I had one done because the doctor could not get me fully sedated. It wasn't a 'horror story' but they were unable to complete it. I went back a short time later and they did the procedure under anesthesia....
  9. That is the case for me also. I also have what are called UBO's, or Unidentified Bright Objects which are lesions that are diagnostic of the autoimmune attack on the brain.
  10. There are sublingual tablets that go as high as 5000. I don't think it would do any harm to take a couple daily for a bit. B12 is a water soluable vitamin so you would simply excrete the excess.
  11. The time that each of us take to react can vary from person to person. When I did my doctor guided elimination diet he told me to only add back each item one week at a time since reactions can take that long to appear. So yes it could be normal for you.
  12. Thanks for the update. Hopefully she will be able to do something to help with the disks. Physical therapy helped me quite a bit. Thanks also about posting about the herbal liver cleanse. There is a reason so many here warn about us doing cleanses. I hope you recover completely from it in time.
  13. You may want to contact the makers directly to inquire. I find if I put the companies name and the words 'contact info' in a search engine I can usually find a phone number to call. Sometimes they do have to call me back as the person who answers the phone may not have the answer. I consider that a good thing. There are some meds that are not gluten free...
  14. I'm sorry this happened to you. The time to recover can vary from person to person. For me it takes about 3 weeks but it could be sooner for you. When I get glutened anti-inflammatorys help a bit with the pain. I try to drink lots of water and to rest as much as I can. I also make sure that I am taking my vitamins, the B's and D in particular along with...
  15. It would be great if you could get a consult with doctor Turner, especially if your Mom will let you go with her. However you may never get her to realize that her issues could be gluten related. Since you are a diagnosed celiac one thing you could do is call and ask to speak with her GP. Tell them you are diagnosed and suspect your Mom may be celiac also...
  16. Add a sublingual B12 tablet into your daily vitamin regime. That may help a great deal.

    ARCHIVED I

Welcome to the board. Great to hear you have had such a great response to the diet. Do follow up with your doctor on the chance that with the resolution of so many issues they may go ahead and give you a 'diagnosis' without putting you through the hell of a gluten challenge. If you have only been gluten free for a couple of weeks you might even still have...
  18. I'd run to if I saw that huge mouth coming at me open! LOL Seriously though, there is a company called Pet Tags that makes collars with your pets name and your phone number. We have had them for all our pets. Came in real handy one day years ago when I let my old Westie out. I had a phone call a few minutes later from a neighbor saying that my dog was in...
  19. Kiki I also had false negative blood tests and had to do 2 challenges. The first was after an allergist set up an elimination diet and I had been gluten free at that point for 2 weeks. My reaction was severe and that doctor told me never to eat gluten again. He then set me up with a GI doctor and I had to wait a month to get in. The GI doctor demanded a second...
  20. YES! A gluten free, soy free bakery within easy driving distance. Thank you Scott for posting. I'll be taking a drive within a couple of days.
  21. Do talk to your tax professional about this. The process is very complicated and requires you to note the cost difference between your gluten free items and the same item with gluten as you can only deduct the difference. It is also a medical expense so you can only take advantage of it if your medical expenses are over a certain percentage of your income...
  22. Until my local Wegmans started carrying a good number of gluten free baked goods I shopped at the Gluten Free Mall. Open Original Shared Link
  23. It's not the end of the world to be gluten free. There is still lots of food we can eat. If you have symptoms get yourself tested!
  24. Yep. You can see what having false negative tests did for me by my signature. It took over 40 years and a savvy 80 some year old doctor for me to get a diagnosis.
  25. If you do find that you are going through caffine withdrawl a bit of tea or a cup of coffee (neither to excess) might help you ease through it. I think the most common symptom of caffine withdrawl is a headache so a headache preperation with caffine might help also.
