  1. Go take some Benadryl. Was there anything else in the granola that you have had problems with in the past? If not sounds like your nut reaction is getting worse. Yellow Rose
  2. I can tell you that I had a similar experience last week. I was glutened Sunday. When this happens to me it is usually within 4 hours of coming in contact. I made all my own food and ate at home. The only thing my DH and I could come up with was a trip to the grocery store. There was flour on the floor of one of the isles and he noticed it because...
  3. I was told several years ago that it is a genetic thing related to Athritus. There has been a study on it. I have RA and have a short little finger. My youngest daughter has JRA and also has a short little finger. Yellow Rose
  4. Sounds DELISH!!! It's going on my grocery list for next week. Thanks, Yellow Rose
  5. Done. Share if you can. Yellow Rose
  6. Your mother's reaction of tounge swelling and difficulty with swallowing was how I started with walnuts. Several years down the road and I can't have even a bite without winding up at the ER getting shots. She needs to get her Dr. to write a script for an epi pen she can carry with her. Yellow Rose
  7. So if I read this right, I have tested positive for antibodies and that is a true gluten intolerance with an autoimmune response that has to work its way out of my body on its own and I can't do a darn thing but wait it out. Thanks for clearing that up. Yellow Rose
  8. I am wondering about allergic reactions and glutening. I am allergic to bee's and walnuts. Both make me stop breathing within 20 minutes and I have to take benadryl, epinefrin, and steroids to stop the reactions. Can glutening work the same way? Is it a true allergic reaction or is it considered something else. I got glutened over the weekend and was...
  9. Thanks for the receipe. It looks like fun to make. With all the additives in processed foods my husband and I have deceided to make everything from scratch and he loves marshmallows. Yellow Rose
  10. When I first started in April I wasn't sure how to post at all. I was lurking around for 3 months before I figured it out. What worked well for me was to read every post for those months and I am up to page 79. I found everything I was wondering about somewhere on this site and everyone was so encouraging that I feel I can actually deal with this now....
  11. Looking for suggestions to substitute the rice flour and cornstarch. Can't do rice or corn anything. Any suggestions? Want to make this bread and be able to eat it without reacting. Help!!! Yellow Rose
  12. The problem with oats is not gluten as oats don't have gluten it is the contamination of oats. There are only a few factories that process oats in the US but these places also process other grains like wheat. So if you can find a place that grows oats without growing other gluten grains in the same field and then find a place that processes without processing...
  13. I was just recovering from being glutened on Sunday. Wheat is definitely the worse for me. My reactions are getting longer and more painful with each glutening. Don't have the gut reaction I have joint and muscle pain that feels like I am being pulled apart with burning and spasms. Yellow Rose
  14. I have always had a problem with milk and icecream. Not with cheese or other dairy. Is this new for you? Have you been able to drink milk and eat icecream without problems in the past? If so then I would agree with Mango04 and give it a few months to settle down and then try reintroducing. But do it slowly when you start back up. Not more than one serving...
  15. I was going through my cabinets and found a pkg of Hall's Cough Drops and wondered if they were gluten free. I e-mailed the company and this is their reply. With cold season around the corner this was good to know. Yellow Rose Dear Mrs. Edminson, Thank you for contacting us about Halls. Your comments and inquiries are appreciated because they...
  16. In todays mail I got my Woman's Day magazine and in it was this link and I thought of you. www.womansday.com/slowcooker Yellow Rose
  17. Yes I do and muscle and joint pain. I don't get the gut reaction mine is all in the muscles and joints. I have swelling and my muscles get very tense. I was just glutened Sunday and had the most painful reaction. Just now starting to feel better. I have been waiting to start a exercise program until most of this settles down. It is better since I started...
  18. I have been reading about some of you using coconut flour and having good results. But having to add a lot of eggs. Does anyone know what the adaptions would be if I substituted coconut flour. I am wanting to try several different ways of doing this. Thanks again, Yellow Rose Armita when you get time I would love the recipe for your cookies!!! Thanks...
  19. Hi Jen, I have been at this since April. I don't get the whole gut reaction but do have horrible joint and muscle pain. When I was first diognosed I could not even walk to the bathroom without support. I sat in a chair all day and did nothing but watch TV. I don't do that anymore. I have pain still but it is no where near what I had. I have been able...
  20. Just curious have you tried to make bread in this without the gluten free setting? I am wondering if I can use my breadmaker with it's settings and your adaptions? Yellow Rose
  21. I make Carne Guisada in the crock pot and it's so easy. You can cut up the beef into small chunks or just throw it in whole and shred with a fork after it cooks. Take a roast and throw it in the crock pot. I do use a boneless one. Cut up an onion and a bell pepper into small chunks and put on top of the meat. Mince up a clove of garlic and add that...
  22. Congrats to the new parents. Welcome to the new baby. Can't wait to see a pic. Yellow Rose
  23. There has been recent articles on the benifits of adding cinnamon to your diet. Recommend 1/2 teaspoon in the morning. It can be added to applesauce or oatmeal, cereal, or what ever you can think of. My husband has been doing this since I read about it several months ago. He has had no blood sugar problems since but does notice that on the days he forgets...
  24. I have had the flashing light thing but not with a major migraine. I get an arch on the outside area of my vision with connecting triangles that flash. It starts off slow and picks up in speed and intensity. It usually lasts for about 15 minutes and then my neck muscles are stiff and my vision gets very blurry in that eye for several hours. The first time...
  25. How do you make your chicken nuggets? Yellow Rose
