  1. That's the right story. It said she has severe Celiac, and brittle bones due to malabsorption. She's been in a wheelchair since she broke her back for the second time. I'm all for Celiac being talked about in the press, but I just don't think I can feel good about a woman in an apartment complex having a mini-pony as a service animal. If she lived...
  2. Well, I must say this is a lot to think about! I have to get Ezra sorted out before I even think about doing anything else... (see my Doctor Appointment Shocker post in Kids and Babies, if you haven't checked it out already...) It would seem so strange to possibly treat something if I feel ok.... Although I don't quite like the idea of being a ticking...
  3. <--- at myself! Start talking about babe-alicious guys, and I'll pop right up.
  4. Nathan Fillion is on Desperate Housewives??? I have to admit, I've never watched it-- but I looove Nathan Fillion. I'm one of those culty Firefly/Serenity fans!
  5. Did you try calling the place/person he was leaving, to see what time he left? That would be my next step after checking with the police about accidents.
  6. Hi! I read this thread a while back and found it to be extremely informative and interesting! I have a couple questions... I feel awful silly asking about this, and almost PMed Carla instead, but then thought oh well, what the heck... I was tested for Lyme when I was 11 years old. This would've been 1989. Were the tests back then not any good??? My...
  7. In everything I've read, and everything I've witnessed and experienced-- Yes, eliminating a substance you're intolerant to can/will make your reaction to it worse if you're exposed to it again. I know some people get hives when exposed to something their intolerant to, but the throat closing up is extremely troubling! That sounds like an anaphylactic allergic...
  8. Hi Lynn, Thanks so much for your encouragement! I must say, the past few days have been a hideous rollercoaster. On the upside, his mood has actually been pretty good! No full-out tantrums in 2 whole days- for him, that is amazing. On the down-side, his pooping problems have increased tenfold. I have a theory on this... This isn't the first time...
  9. Yes, he does look rawther unbathed most of the time! He's still hot tho! But you know who is my most delicious hottie??? Clive Owen... esp. as King Arthur, oh my gawwwd! He's so yummy.

  12. I loooove Dazed and Confused. You're right, he's hilarious in that movie. Mm-mm, he's so hot, he's juicy!
  13. It would be cool to be able to use the green guy in the message body!
  14. Ok, I am feeling uber-stoopid today, but-- Emily is that your dad for really real? Like he is/was in movies? Because when I saw your current (green skinned fella) avatar, I immediately GASPED-- is that from one of my faaaavorite cult horror flicks-- Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things?!?!? I luuuuuurve that movie!

  21. I just realized that a couple days ago. I mean I knew it was colloidal oatmeal, but I didn't make the CC connection till a couple days ago. Sorry for the bad recommendation! -Sarah
  22. Actually there was another thread about this started just a couple days ago that had a few responses as well. I think it was titled, Random, I know-- in the Coping With section. It doesn't surprise me that it keeps coming up. After all, it's an important aspect of some Celiacs' lives. I've seen a few threads about it, and haven't seen any fighting so...
  23. I may be completely off-base here, so forgive me in advance but... I don't suppose she's seen a GYN to rule out uterine cysts and that sort of thing, and have a general check-up? I know she's young to put through that, but... with your description of the location of the pain, I just immediately thought, Uterus. -Sarah
  24. Susie, I'm sorry it took awhile for me to reply! It's extremely generous of you to share this ((hugs!!)) I needed a day or two to let it "brew" in my head, I guess. I cried a bit, reading your post. Partly because it is a very sad story... I'm so sorry about your brother. And partly because I'm just worried about Ez. I've been exceedingly emotional lately...
