A reaction from Baked Lays could actually have nothing to do with gluten..I LOVED their chedder and sour cream baked lays chips until I ate too many...and the Olestra in the chips actually does give you a gluten reaction....I've heard of some people having CC issues and others are fine...but with Baked Lays this was the problem for me!

Next up......an actual hoagie roll that isn't a brick and a soft pretzel!
-
usually that show makes me laugh because I can't hear anything that they are freaking out about...like it just sounds like a thud that I felt one of them made or something, but I have seen episodes that scare me and make me turn all the lights on...of course I always watch them before I go to bed, smart thinking there!!! I kinda wish I had seen this episode...that kinda stuff amazes me!

I make calzones with the Chebe pizza mix all the time...honestly if it's cooked right, I don't know how everyone doesn't like it!! I was shocked to see so many negative comments about Chebe (on other threads)...it takes a good trial to see just how much liquid to put in and everything to make it come out great!!

I recommend Real Chow Baby (not sure exact location, google search??), There's always Chick-fil-a's...Whole Foods has a great hot bar. Check out this website for other places.

No, it is obvious who he is, you can buy his book from Amazon. What she thinks is fishy is that it looks like he only came here to advertise his book, not to help people.
Ursa Major got me!! I just found it strange that he joined to discuss nightshades (he taught me, being that I had no idea what they were) but them seemed to only pitch his book when here was a perfect opportunity to prove his expertise...eh..but sometimes I try to be a detective...maybe I should stick to my day job, who knows
-
Where's this Michael Fowler person now? He pitched this huge book and topic on this forum about nightshades...and he hasn't commented on this thread when someone needs his expertise. I find it fishy!
I do hope everyone feels better soon

If it says Gluten free and yet has Rye and Barley in it...my assumption is that they think gluten is only wheat and there is no way I'd try it. However, after checking out the website it says
"The process by which all the extracts are made uses only water, and gluten is not water soluble, so it stays behind.. What you get is all the nutrition from the barley and rye, but none of starch or gluten"
So I think they're saying that it gives you the things that are good from the ingrediants like barley and rye but does not directly contain them.
That description could be taken so many different ways, my advice to you would be to call the company and explain your concern!

you can ask them to clean the slicer. I get boars head all the time, its just better than pre-packaged in my opinion...
-
It's straight grain alcohol....you'd have to check with the manufacturer of the EverClear...however, please be careful. EverClear is now illegal in many states.
-
This confuses me...so you thought you were celiac, and acted on a diet that was gluten-free but now that you removed "nightshades" which I never heard of (good to learn new things!) you can eat wheat with no problems?
-
Oats depend on your reactions as a person, however, I'm not sure if I were going to eat Oats, I'd trust the main stream brands...I do miss me lucky charms though
I wish someone made a cereal of just those marshmallows that we could have...probably not the healthiest thing however.

I got that same list from them...I haven't really gotten much of an opportunity to try any of their flavors because I can't find them down here since I've moved, however, I had much of an experience like Mahee34 but that could be just my abnormal stomach. I don't have a dairy problem but some days are better than others.
Thanks for posting the list

They have a gluten free "menu" out, the roast beef is on it, as are the milkshakes and you'd have to check with each particular Arby's to see if they have a dedicated fryer, I know that their curly fries aren't gluten-free which is sad because they're delicious but I frequently have their roastbeef on my own bread and have no symptoms or signs that it is unsafe. However, as you always have to mention when posting, just because I don't get sick doesn't mean someone else won't...cross contamination is always an issue in places like that of course.

I crave gluten infested food all the time. I live right next to a Krispy Kreme and in the morning sometimes when the hot light is on it takes everything out of me not to call off work and buy a dozen!! I also miss good subs and the crispy chicken sandwhich from Wendy's. I'd have to say though growing up in South Jersey, I miss the rolls...and Philly soft pretzels...sometimes I wonder if I shouldnt' just say screw this gluten free diet!! but then I sigh, because I know better. We all get like that from time to time, some have more will power than others. My advice to you is to find something that cures the craving, like Kinnitoos that taste like oreos or 123 gluten free biscuts that taste like mama's homeade!! The only bad thing about celiac disease in my opinion is that no matter what kind or brand of bread you have, it never matches up...plus, if anyone finds a sub roll that'd be great...I don't have the time to make one myself...dang !

My boyfriend got this last night...sushi that is, and the meat inside looked like it had soy sauce on it. So while you aren't using the packaged soy sauce, maybe they put it on there prior?
-
I'm also going to make them tonight!! Did you put cool whip on top or just leave the strawberries as the only topping?
-
I tried Grandma Ferdanan's before...their cinnamon rolls were good but their burritos were disgusting, I had to throw them out after one bite...I was really excited about burritos too! i can't seem to make a good one

I've served jury duty 6 times in 2 different states (mind you I'm only 27) and yes I was as healed as I can be...it's just like a day at work, you can take your lunch and the majority of the people are understanding if you explain early on...a doctor's note is a good validation of what you're saying....the one time we were there for 4 days and they even brought me a salad from Chick-fil-a when they brought in lunch....it's all about how you go about it...If you're pushy and rude, they're not going to be as willing to work with you or to understand your situation...
-
I know jury duty is a pain and all...but, I don't really see why unless you're really sick that you would want to "get out of it"...personally, if I can control my disease and am healed...some times if you call in advice they'll allow you to bring food in, a doctor's note might be good for this...but to have a doctor's note to get out of jury duty just because you're afraid you might have a D outburst and be embarassed...I don't really feel is right...we all complain that the justice system is failing and guilty people are walking the streets with us and our families...if we could do our part and help this change, I don't see why anyone would want to get out of that...maybe the justice system isn't the only one at fault here..

These bad boys are amazing...taste like a normal bagel...great with cream cheese and as a pizza bagel...I keep my fridge stocked with a package at all times
-
I've never had a problem with these, however since he is an anaphylatic it might be better to avoid these types of products just in case.
UTZ may be a nation-wide company...but its in a small town...they like to take care of their people

thanks for sharing...i love nut thins...this is a great idea

and tell your hubby if he's going to be that big of a pain in the ass COOK FOR YOURSELF THEN!
HAHA, I second this!!
You're amazing for what you're doing...going out of your way like you do to make sure he can eat things..I used to be so scared to eat because I was afraid to get sick like I was getting all of the time...I've since lightened up. There's a lot more that we can eat out there than some of us even realize... Hang in there...
