  1. OK . . . I read this yesterday and I've been thinking about it all day long and I just have to ask . . . "meat for the crust"?? Such as? I'm envisioning flattened/pounded chicken breast or ground beef pressed into the bottom of the pan . . . what do you do exactly, here? Gives new meaning to a "meat lover's pizza", huh?
  2. I don't have to worry (for my daughter's sake) what the side effects are on a lifetime's worth of medication . . . 'cause seriously, how do they really know what being on a medication for 80 years would do to you?
  3. My daughter was the only one in her elementary school (about 600 kids), but she really had no issues dealing with other kids and never got any grief about her food. In general, food has not been a big deal for her, it's more about who she's sitting with/socializing with. She was diagnosed in Kindergarten and she's been very vocal and matter-of-fact with...
  4. Kinnikinnick makes a product called S'moreables . . . basically gluten free graham crackers. This is what my daughter usually uses for S'mores. The other thing that both my kids do is roast a marshmallow and when it gets hot and gooey, stick a segment of hershey bar in it, give it a few seconds to melt (maybe even keeping it over the fire a bit) and then...
  5. Any problems with cow's milk/cheese? Just wondering if you have a casein issue. The last couple of times that you have had the goat cheese, have you had it prepared the same way (like always in a salad . . . hence, tom's question of a suspect dressing?) Was this a salad you made yourself and added cheese or was it a purchased (already-prepared) salad...
  6. Yeah . . . those typos will get you . . . you probably sent it to Wyderscope, or Vidorskope . . . or was it the autocorrect? Maybe you sent it to WiperSpoke or ViperCorpse . . . yep, gotta watch those keystrokes.
  7. . . . and does he clean up the splatter when he's done?
  8. Milk . . . $2.50/gallon Skinless/Boneless Chicken Breast . . . $4.99/lb or $2.99/lb on sale . . . can almost ALWAYS find them on sale. Ground Sirloin (90/10) . . . $4.39 . . . and climbing. Boar's Head Sweet Slice Ham . . . $8.49/lb.
  9. OK . . . how's this? . . . my kids both decided they liked broccoli after friends had us over for a fondue party and the kids got to cook their own (in chicken broth). My son asked for more
  10. Ummmm . . . I pretty much have to agree with him there
  11. What is it about that show? I don't go looking for it, but when it's on, I can't stop watching . . . maybe it just makes me feel better about the amount of clutter that I have Project Runway and Top Chef.
  12. Keep in mind that this thread is over four years old. Products can change during that time.
  13. So we aren't really talking about plums . . . we're just talking about booty.
  14. How long does it take to dry a plum on the roof? How do you keep the birds and squirrels out of 'em? Does your neighbor ever check your roof for missing plums? . . . Inquiring minds want to know.
  15. Just had to wait over an hour and a half for a doctor's appointment . . . grrrrrrrr. They told me to come 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork . . . which thank goodness I didn't go early because experience says that I have plenty of time to fill out the paperwork . . . would have been two hours if I had . . . and I walk away from the appointment...
  16. You say your blood test was positive though? . . . that's significant . . . and I agree that you need more than just a couple of weeks on gluten. If you are positive that you've eliminated gluten from your diet/meds/toiletries, then you should investigate further. Lisa, come to my house for fried chicken.
  17. In the US, if modified food starch is derived from wheat, it must be declared on the packaging by law.n
  18. Hope they get that fire out quick, Purple. We've got those programmable highway signs around here . . . the ones that usually tell you about accidents up ahead so you can detour around it. They all warn people not to through lit tobacco products out their car windows.
  19. Nope, premade ones have malt . . . so those are a no-go. I don't like to make a big batch of Rice Krispie treats because I end up eating most of them. You can just make a cup at a time . . . microwave cup, a little butter and a handful of marshmallows (kraft brand is good) a few seconds on the microwave to melt, stir till smooth, add (gluten-free)Rice...

When you see the "moved" icon, you can still click on the title of the thread and it will automatically transfer you to the correct location. Then the path to the thread will be listed above your thread (hope that makes sense) and you'll be able to see the forum name. Another way to find your thread is to click on the "View New Content" link on the upper...
  21. First, I suggest that you open a thread in the "Doctors" forum putting your location in thread title something like "Doc needed in . . . " Second, check for a local support group . . . I just did a quick google search and a facebook link came up. Something to check out. See if the support group may have a recommendation for a local celiac savy GI.
  22. You seem to be on top of the diet requirements but I just want to mention a couple of things. If you have done these things already, then maybe it will help somebody else following the thread. Have you checked all your medication/supplements? Simple things can trip us up. I bought advil gel caps recommended by my TMJ doc because they are faster acting...
  23. Ummmmm . . . . . . where the H.E.double L is Nikki!!! She's 'sposed to be punchin' and pinchin' us . . . she is totally slacking off. I believe she missed last month as well. Oh well, at least there won't be any bruises. Feel better Loey . . . be a good girl and do what you need to do to recover . . . feet up & remote in hand!!
  24. But where did the squirrels go? They're in the top pic but not the bottom. We just updated our family room TV to LCD a couple of months ago. I thought we were the last ones but I guess not. We only got the one new TV, so the TV in the bedroom and the one in the basement that the kids use when we tell the to "go away, this show isn't for you...
