  1. That's cool, Pauliina.
  2. Open Original Shared Link There are tons of good gluten-free places in New York City. Risotteria is my favourite. Open Original Shared Link
  3. I'd have to argue that being bred and murdered for food is still terrible no matter how you're treated. That's a big part of being vegan/vegetarian.
  4. I am a vegetarian. It wouldn't be hard to be a gluten-free vegan. You could have pasta, veggie burgers, sauces, some candies and junk food, too.
  5. I would strongly suggest you not let her play with Play-Doh but make your own, gluten-free, version.
  6. This diet isn't that hard to follow. The only thing you have to do is pre-plan more and shop at some different stores. Honestly, if you give it a shot you'll find it not that bad and not at all like living in a bubble- I know I am not in one.
  7. That all looks delicious, SleepingBean.
  8. Amy, if you make it from scratch tell us how it goes!
  9. I hope it repeats.
  10. Oh, that would be interesting, AkJenny!
  11. I am a vegetarian, so, I don't eat Jell-O because the gelatin is made from animals. So, I just did a vegan search for Jell-O recipes and found this one: Open Original Shared Link vegetarian jello 4 tablespoons agar agar flakes (kanten) 1 quart fruit juice bring to a boil, simmer for 5 minutes. Pour into a dish, add fruits if you like. Chill
  12. I think that any processed food would contain some parts per million of gluten just because of facilities and such but could/would still would test as gluten free- just as this xanthan gum. At least Namaste uses a glute-free facility and even with their use of this xanatham gum. I would think they might have a lower parts per million than other brands just...
  13. If it tests gluten-free then I would have to think it goes through a process that the protein can't pass through- like with vinegar.
  14. The package I bought a few weeks ago said right on them that they were gluten-free and I didn't see anything about wheat. Did the company tell you they get their xanthan gum from wheat? I think that'd be some sort of law violation if they said one thing on a package but used another in the actual food. I didn't have a problem with the brownies I made.
  15. When I use the microwave at work I use microwave-safe containers so my food stays in there and doesn't get bothered by a dirty or clean microwave. If you are haveing problems maybe stick to food like fruits or sammies not needing refridgeration so you can carry them on you and not worry about other peoples messes. When I am on campus I bring my own fruit...
  16. Thank you all so much and for the quotes and links. My Mom isn't going to eat gluten because she knows how much better she feels without it. She will have to ask her doctor what he is doing as far as the test is concerned and can now go in knowing more than she did. Thank you, again.
  17. Buenas suerte, Molly.
  18. Thank you very much, Olalisa.
  19. In the United States we have one kind of M&M's that are not gluten-free, so, maybe in Australia you do, too, Georgie.
  20. My Mother is having one soon because her gastroenterologist wants to take a biopsy of her small intestine to test for Celiac Disease. He is not sure she has it but my brother and I are Celiacs. I have not met him but he has not told her to eat gluten before her test knowing that she is gluten-free and has been for a year and a half. I wouldn't tell my...
  21. Do some on-line searches and contact support group leaders there.
  22. I usually say it's something like a allergy if they don't really need to know or if I don't feel like sharing. For closer people I explain that it is a genetic auto-immune disorder and about what I can't eat and about my intestines.
