  3. I don't think there are too many places to really eat but there are some. Outback Steakhouse and P.F. Changs both have gluten-free menus. Here is a list of Georgia P.F. Changs Open Original Shared Link. Here is a list of the Georgia Outback Steackhouses Open Original Shared Link. There is a place called Ritter's in Marietta, Georgia which can cater to...
  4. That is very dissapointing to hear. I know it costs a lot of money to attend space camp in the first place and then to be hungry! How sad!

  10. Hello Lori.
  11. I am 20 and live in Georgia. You'll find lots of support here.
  12. I only traveled one time without taking most of my food with me. I was going to pick up the food I wanted at a Whole Foods (in Baltimore) when I got there. However, when I arrived they were already out of almost everything I needed and wouldn't get any until the next week. Ever since then I just take everything I wasnt with me. There is no way you would...
  13. It really depends on your school. My University does not have a meal plan and I do not live on campus, so, I don't have to worry about anything. Some colleges have apartments while others have dorms. When you ar elooking at schools be sure to discuss this with them.

  17. In your post you say your husband is the one with Celiac. That is why I moved it into the that section.
  18. Don't worry. It will be taken care of.
  19. Hello Jeremiah! I was diagnosed just less than a year after you were. I was very glad to find the answer to my health problems but it took me a long time to fully understand this new diet. For breakfast I usually eat fruit. For lunch on campus I also bring fruit with me. For lunch at home I usually make egg sandwiches and for dinners either noodles with...
  20. I use the Toll House traditional recipe and subsitute in gluten-free products.
  21. If you are breastfeeding and eating gluten it will pass on to your child. So, that doesn't help with not feeding them gluten. Plus, Celiac Disease isn't something one can contract. It is a genetic auto-immuine disorder.
  22. I was sick all through High School and I hadn't known anyone in my large school with Celiac Disease but I wasn't diagnosed, yet. I moved my senior year down South and to a smaller school. By that time I was a lot sicker and was diagnosed. It sort of made sense to the people around me that the food I was eating would make me sick since I was sick a lot...
  23. I eat a lot of fruit and eggs. I either bring my own pan or stick to one of their pans (that is safe for me to use) and am the only one to use it for my stay.
  24. I showed signs of Celiac Disease as a newborn and so did my brother. You can't really know yet how he will react. Maybe he doesn't even have Celiacs, maybe he won't show symptoms until he is very old, or maybe he will be like my brother and I and be sick from the start. Just do what you think he is ready for.
  25. The Assistant tells additional information, too.
