ARCHIVED Britney Spears & Dairy Allergies
Mom23boys replied to FlourShopGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I've always wondered how much of her issue was dietary. Just a couple of Starbursts candies is like rocket fuel to my oldest (he can't do dye). Just a minor change like that in his life means the whole world to us. I hope they can get her issues resolved. At this point I really feel sorry for her. -
ARCHIVED I Dont Know What To Think
Mom23boys replied to Abbott50's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That is kind of how it happened in this house. The nutritionist told us to test gluten for a couple of the kids and hubby's issues clear when we took it out and I got sick when we added it back in. We both did the enterolab testing and both came back with issues. It sounds like you do have some level of gluten problem. You may want to read around... -
ARCHIVED Cereal Question?
Mom23boys posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I get the idea that Corn Flakes and Kix are not gluten free??? Is it somehow in the cereal or x-contamination?? -
There is now a video snippet in her blog now. It is cut off before she goes on and on and leaves Alexis standing there.

I don't know what is being said in print but on the show M kind of said how it would be done. She announced the "tie" even though she did state that Alexis had won the "popular" vote. (Last I recall the pets hadn't even made it to 30%) In what I call a dull, bored voice and expressionless face she said they could add a column in a preexisting...

I've taken to filling in the online restaurant reviews you find in online travel guides. A comment like that would definitely get the lowest star rating possible, a direct quote and a link (if possible) to educate people on the issue if they don't know what it is.

Whew! Thats good to know!

What are some competitors magazines?? Let them know how she dropped the ball. (I'm still kind of miffed about how she kind of snubbed Alexis (??) this morning for the pampered pup lady). We can back this person and make a #1 mag. We have style, class and shouldn't have to hide in the corner like the dark ages.

I would at least like to come close to the real word when I am trying to pronounce it -- especially since my hubby and 1 kid both have a good case of it (I think our nutritionist was on to something when she said try gluten free!!!). I have been saying it her (as in female) pet (as in cat or dog) i (short sound) form (as in shape) is...

Well, it was a tie (they said) between pets and "allergies". "Allerglies" had 56% of the popular vote. The pets are getting their own publication and goodies. The "allergies" are going to be stuck in sections of 3 preexisting publications. Whoever said it was rigged was right!! I'm not paying for THREE mags where I have to throw out 95% of...

ARCHIVED Enterolab Questions
Mom23boys replied to ItchyMeredith's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
After getting our tests back, we think we are going to have all 3 of ours tested (4,6,8). I KNOW we will at least do the basic tests. We are still discussing the full test but think we probably will do it. -
ARCHIVED Glutened By Bob's Mill?
Mom23boys replied to elmuyloco5's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
In our house we would feel icky if we had so little protein. -
ARCHIVED Super Ez Guideline Help Please!
Mom23boys replied to Mom23boys's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for the good suggestions. I sat him down and had another talk with him this weekend. He has been used to having the freedom of eating what he wants at work/work lunches. He is now under the "shock" of being included in the family allergy/sensitivity/intolerance list with such intensity. Before he only had to watch out for vanillin and notify... -
ARCHIVED Super Ez Guideline Help Please!
Mom23boys replied to Mom23boys's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Celiac is not the only issue that is gluten free. In our house we have 1 wheat allergic (child), 2 aspies (children) whose nutritionist told them to go Gluten-free Casein-free (they also test IgE to milk - 1 has had ana reactions, we are waiting on the additional gluten etc), I just had a panel done and came up borderline sensitive (I am also casein positive... -
ARCHIVED Roommate Issues Pt 4
Mom23boys replied to num1habsfan's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Personally I would go the route of the tunafish in the air vents but thats just me. -
While not perfect yet my 8,6 and 4 y/o kids can make good choices without me hovering over them. My hubby is something else though. He came up to me today and said "I made a good choice at the party last night, I only had the pasta salad". By the look on my face he quickly got it that it was NOT a good choice. I've got the Dummies book and told him that...

ARCHIVED Enterolab
Mom23boys replied to Healthy Girl's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Exactly! Do you want to know if you have the gene? Do you want to know if you are having malabsorbtion issues? Do you just want to know if you have a sensitivity? -

ARCHIVED Why Are Parents So Stubborn?
Mom23boys replied to Glutenfreefamily's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I gotta agree. In a way it is like the child that has flown back to the nest, won't get a job, sits around all day then complains. They need to be kicked out. They are getting something from it. Sometimes you just gotta get tough. -
When we were doing diet testing sometimes we would feel worse and sometimes we would feel oddly better. It was almost as if the body needed its "fix".

ARCHIVED Depressing Teeth Decay Problem
Mom23boys replied to Alternative mama's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Add me to the list. I go in a week for a complete exam. I just got finished with an emergency treatment for a broken tooth. DH is beyond shocked. I always get blamed for neglecting my teeth yet I have a DH who is ready to turn me into a mental hospital because of my obsession with taking care of them!!! -
ARCHIVED Help My Son's Broken Spirit
Mom23boys replied to nattrail's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Kids are mean. My oldest was still in diapers day and night at 5. Cranial sacral treatment worked for him within a month. You may want to read about it to see if you think it would work (it will at least feel good whether it will work for him or not). Anyway, I told my son that everyone has their issues. Some are more obvious and some are more... -
ARCHIVED Our Numbers Are Slipping

I too will have to question her integrity if the mag doesn't win and some princess pup thing does. It didn't even cross my mind until the % were taken down. -
ARCHIVED Our Numbers Are Slipping
Mom23boys replied to Mom23boys's topic in Publications & Publicity
This isn't the only forum talking about it!! Every allergy/sensitivity forum I'm on is buzzing about it. I've even peeped into some I am no longer active in and they are discussing it. -
ARCHIVED What Can I Eat If I Cut Out Gluten, Dairy And Casein?!?!?
Mom23boys replied to LilyCeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
There is plenty left! First I would like you to clarify by what you mean by "dairy and casein". Are you removing more than just milk protein (casein) related products (milk, butter, cheese...)?? A couple days ago I made my kids EZ meatballs (just used spoons and scooped up meat and rolled them) then cooked them in a Gluten-free Casein-free pasta...
