    'Tis the season! My brother sent his annual large tub of popcorn from Topsy's Popcorn in Kansas City. I checked with Topsy's and all their popcorn is gluten-free! Needless to say, I know what my diet will mainly consist of for the next few weeks !

    No snow here but lots of rain/ice. They closed schools here too, but I don't know why! The weathermen all said that the temps will drop and everything will ice over - but that didn't happen. It's "supposed" to snow tonight - which I'd rather see than this ice - but I'll believe it when I see it!

    You know, I would get really bad panic attacks while driving. Since I've gone gluten free, it's been a while since I've had one. The real test would be driving on the highway - that's where I'd get the worst attacks. I've got to plan a road trip somewhere . . .

    I just took a dampened make-up sponge, dipped it in the powder and applied it that way. It wasn't gunky at all.

    I love this make up! It feels so light on my skin and very natural! The blush, it turns out, was not too dark after all (I got Girls Day). I have rather large pores on and around my nose so I tried the concealer wet today and I think it worked out fine. I placed my order tonight (got my 10% discout ) and hopefully I'll get my things later this week...

    Hi Amy! My family doctor is in Lake Zurich, so I don't think that will help you. The Whole Foods in Palatine (Rand & Dundee) has a gluten-free support group that meets every month. You might go there and see if anyone can help you. The next meeting is on the 20th and it fills up pretty fast. There is a $5 fee. I'd love to go to these meetings...

    My sample pack came today!! I've already have make-up on, so I'll have to experiment tomorrow. Already I can see the blush I chose is going to be dark. If all goes well, I have my order just waiting for me to click "pay". I ordered everything - including the brushes - and it came to less than $50 (with the 10% discount). What a deal !

    I LOVE the Nut-Thins!! I could eat the whole box in one sitting. I can get these at my Meijer and I just saw them at Whole Foods. The plain hazelnut are great with hummus.

    You are right, there was a recent post about about how much xanthum gum/cup of flour. It's 1 tsp/cup of gluten-free flour for cookies.

    Glutino Gluten Free Crackers are great! They look like Ritz Crackers, but they're gluten-free. They taste pretty good, too!

    Welcome! If there's a Whole Foods near you, they sell a wonderful bread. It's their gluten-free Bakehouse bread. They have a sandwich bread that I love and also raisin bread. It's expensive, but I finally can have a decent sandwich! Like most gluten-free breads, you will have to keep this bread frozen.

    I think it's pretty extensive. The site is easy to get around - If there's a brand you like, you can locate the item by the brand name.

    Betty, I've ordered from Gluten Free Trading Company (food4celiacs.com). They're in Wisconsin, so it's close for me to order from them. I'm not sure if the shipping charges change the farther out you are from their store. What a great gift idea! You taught your son well ! Good luck! Laura

    Oh no! I just ate there for dinner! I thought their fries were safe, I had a few off the kids plates - which were delicious, I think they changed their fries, which should have had me question their safety. I ate their baked potato and chili, both I know are safe. I didn't even think to ask, but I will next time !

    Gosh! Little Debbie Oatmeal Cremes were my staple in high school!!! I can't wait to make these! I have a question about the flour mix - how much xanthum gum do I add? Most of my mixes don't come with it, so I add it to the recipe.

    I'm relatively new at this, but here are my thoughts . . . I consider myself gluten intolerant. I don't get immediate reactions when I eat gluten, it just slowly breaks down my immune system. So I just get sick easier if I keep eating gluen foods. If I eat too much gluten, like days on end, then I'll start getting a reaction. But I think celiacs...

    I JUST bought some vanilla the other day! I bought Rodelle Pure Vanilla and it has right on the label that it's gluten free. Costco, if there's one near you and you use Vanilla a lot, has one that gluten-free - It might be their private label, Kirkland, but don't quote me on that.     I've never tried gluten-free Pantry's brownies - I have had great luck with Pamela's (I think that's the name). Either way, I agree with Northernelf, brownies are just too good to not try again !

    I plan on going to my husband's company party - it's at a Marriott, too. We get to choose from 4 items, which I chose something that looked pretty safe. I plan on getting our contact's name at the hotel to find out if this is safe and try to avoid some cc, which might be hard. But with a big chain like Marriott, I'm hoping they've been through this before...

    Thanks for the tip Mango04! I've always wanted to try out mineral make-up, but was too cheap to spend the money. I went on their website and ordered the free sample. I hope they'll work better than liquid foundation!
