  1. One I have seen often is the sheaf of wheat with a bar through it.
  2. Or perhaps we can have huge tp emporioms-- big as Sam's Club-- where tp connoisseurs can go to find their favorites. We can even have imported brands and specialty brands (featuring little pictures for kids or frames of comics for entertainment purposes.) You can even get colors to coordinate with your bathroom walls! Imagine aisle after aisle of tp!
  3. Sure thing! Here is the thread that contains the link: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/lofivers...php/t55789.html
  4. This is very typical, I am afraid. I have gotten the "that is a good question" too-- in hospitals, in the ER, at doctor's offices and even at pharmacies. My local pharmacies are not hooked up to the internet, so they cannot access the list either and they must call. Sometimes this results in astonishing problems. One example: I was given an rx...
  5. I had a false negative biopsy and it set me back about 8 years (meaning it took eight more years or so to get diagnosed.) The doctors found irritation, but no flattening and they told me it could not be celiac. The never said a word about going gluten-free, even though the bloodwork was positive. I was diagnosed 8 years later through DH. If you...
  6. May you be laughing very soon codetalker! Can you laugh with your tongue in you cheek? Tricky.
  7. What about Chebe? In my experience, chebe will produce a nice crust (sometimes to a fault). The only thing about it is that the inside is pretty squishy. It has texture something in between a brioche and bread pudding. Thanks for the tips riceguy!
  8. When I read the posts in this thread, I was struck by the sense of hopelessness I was picking up from some of the posts. I am moved by the pain and fear and I am so sorry you find yourselves in this place. There are many things that we as celaics cannot control, but there are things that we do control, and attitude is a powerful one. I have fallen...
  9. Sweetie, perhaps you are in caffeine withdrawl. How about a switch to tea? That way you still get something nice and hot to drink that gives you a bit of a buzz and you won't be so far outside of normal. The queen of England and James Bond both drink tea. I have never been able to drink coffee. I don't like it at all, plus it makes me nervous. So...
  10. Hi Bhenry! If the blood work is positive, you must consider your children are celiacs. I see a great deal of gluten free food in your immediate future! You will learn a great deal by reading things on the forum. If you can actually post the results here (just give the numbers,) people on this forum can explain to you what they mean a bit more specifically...
  11. Oh, I am a bit of an addict when it comes to this stuff. I'm sorry I have not researched the dior line. The best bet would be to call them if the link doesn't work. Please post when you find here-- I'm sure lots of people would like to know!
  12. Saya, I am going to give you a link (which in turn has some links) about this issues. This thread is only a few days old. https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=56745 To this list there (read to end) you can add Shisheido products (EVERYTHING gluten-free).
  13. I had the identical symptoms you mention tas-- still do. My fingers are stiff in the mornings and I have pain in hips, knees and ankles. Hang in there!
  14. Also check out the chanel lines (same parent company I believe). Their lipsticks and lipglosses are also gluten-free and they have a huge range of colors. Awhile back I also published a list of stuff that was okay from Guerlain-- I seem to remember there was some there too. If you do a search here it should kick those up for you. Have fun shopping...
  15. It is my understanding that all smashbox (except the mascara) cosmetics are gluten-free. I use/ have used the cream blush, bronzer, soft focus powder, o-glow blush, lipgloss, eyeshadows and eyeliner with no problem and I have DH. Sephora sells kits by smashbox-- sometiems with instructional videos that are a good deal. If you like smashbox, also check...
  16. Generic, thank you so much for sharing your insights. It actually helps me a lot. Once I have stabilized, I will go get acupuncture! I love your advice about standing up again and dusting yourself off. Here's to making it 21 years with such a healthy outlook! May your humor never fade. Lisa
  17. Thank you so much for sharing your extraordinary story Welda. I am inspired! I hope one day I will be lucky enough to look back on my life as you do here and have such a positive outlook. You are blessed indeed. Lisa
  18. Please share your perspective. It would really help me (nad probably lots more people too!) What is the best advice you can give somebody starting out? Have you noticed over time periods of sensitivity or greater tolerance? Have most of the secondary issues cleared up or do some persist? Which ones? Have you become less or more vigiliant over...
  19. If it is DH, it will go away on the gluten-free diet. This might take awhile. I have seen posters who said it took two or three years before they stopped getting random outbreaks. In my case it took a little less than one year, although I will get a milder type outbreak if I get glutened badly. In my case, the DH showed up fairly late (meaning I...
  20. Shisheido is own by the same parent company that owns Chanel. Believe. The only caution is that they may not have taken into account the tocopherols (vitamin E). I would still read the labels before buying-- just to be safe. Happy shopping.
  21. Hi Salax! If you are going shopping I have a few suggestions for you to check out-- I am sure you can find many more here too. Read the labels for sure. I use Sephora a lot: Lipstick: Chanel (all lpstick and gloss okay) Clinique (some) Nars (whole line is gluten-free) Smashbox (everything but mascara) EcoNvey (no gluten ingredients...
  22. Well now, here's how I interpret this: 1. The gluten coating isn't used very much because it is expensive (but there is a small, maybe tiny chance it was used) and 2. There may be minute trace amounts from an ethanol component of the spray (and this is the same chance you would take if you drink distilled anything made from grain)-- pretty small...
  23. Do you mean speculation ofn the part of the director of the CA citrus growers association? I am going to pm you the original letter, signature and phone number. I believe him.
  24. I recently made fondant and flavored it with orange peel. Perhaps that will not go on the next chebe cinnamon rolls! Or a slice of lemon in your ice water!
  25. Here is some information I got today. I think this may, in fact, clear some disagreements up. IMO, It is very important for sensitives to know about this: Dear Lisa, I apologize for the delay in responding to your question of the presence of Gluten in produce coatings. The only produce I can respond to is citrus as we are not involved with any other...
