  1. Slulfasalazine does tend to be slow to have an effect - for RA they say 2-3 months. Alternating diarrhea / constipation is often a celiac symptom. It just sounds more like celiac to me than Crohn's, and often IBD is just another term for non-celiac gluten intolerance, i.e., they can't find a cause for it. Inflammation is definitely one of the early findings...
  2. Make sure you are taking D3, not D2. And 1000 per day is not very much. The recommended 400 is a nonsense. People who are really deficient need a loading dose of 5000/day for a few weeks, then every week, to get their levels back up.
  3. I would be inclined to agree that it is just as likely to be early signs of celiac as Crohn's. Everything seems to start with inflammation before it becomes more clearly defined. Sulfasalazine is also used to treat RA, another inflammatory condition. If she is not feeling better on the sulfasalazine I would think it is time for the gluten free diet. And...
  4. I think you is describing the time-honoured balaclava Open Original Shared Link
  5. Seems like a lot of celiacs develop symptoms that appear to be carpal tunnel, but in fact are not. Do not give up hope that these symptoms will abate.
  6. Buy a snowblower!!! Not as environmentally friendly, but gets you inside a lot quicker.
  7. Welcome to the board, Linnylou. Yes, it is perfectly possible you could have celiac disease in addition to / rather than the other things you have been diagnosed with. Many of the symptoms overlap to a certain degree, but with Crohn's and ulcerative colitis the joint pain would be unusual, also neurological symptoms such as migraine, anxiety, depression...
  8. Right here would be just fine -- keep the story in one book
  9. Hi and welcome, cindylou. No apologies for starting a separate thread - it is the preferred way Three weeks back on gluten is not long enough for a valid diagnosis. But get a copy of the results anyway and see what they say (and tell us, with the reference ranges). You symptoms sound spot on. How long had you been off gluten? DH can only be...
  10. Sorry, it's a hijab or nothing for you, young lady.
  11. Told you, they always ask "Where you from?" I am vommin of velly menny langvidges.
  12. Jah, maybe ziplining in stilettos not such a good ideah.
  13. Excusez moi, but what the heck is ziplining? I'm from hicksville, remember??
  14. But if yer like me it never comes all the way back!! Everywhere I go, people always ask, "Where you from?" And that includes where I'm from
  15. Was there at least a morsel of food retrieved from the conflagration? Or was it a bonfire with s'mors?
  16. Hunny!, where you bin??? There's whole stores that specialize in those kinds of things, dahlin!! Even the store in SF where I used to buy my boats had a sub-specialty... I would always be sitttin' next to some fella??? trying on strappy stilettos
  17. Hey, Gfreeactx, I am right there with you. Doctors will say, no one has problems with that drug, but I do The ones that most people don't have problems with, I do. Then there are things that are supposed to have side effects, and I don't! And to make it worse, the things that are supposed to put you to sleep keep me awake
  18. Most family think symptoms like ours are attention-seeking / hypochondria; many, many doctors think symptoms like ours are hypochondiria / all in our heads. Don't believe either group. You know your own body - keep seeking answers. Definitely get the celiac panel run, and if the tests are negative don't believe them either, get the biopsy if you can....
  19. Where I live it is, but then we are a PUD I think the idea is to blend in with the landscape, not be an eyesore But I guess everything would blend in with snow, which is what it is doing this morning afternoon. Well, not a lot here but it sure is up on the passes. Glad we came back from SF yesterday
  20. I take cranberry gelcaps.
  21. I have had a bad reaction to Bactrim too. I usually take Norfloxacin for UTI's.
  22. It can take a while for labs to normalize - it is not an immediate thing, quicker for some than others. The symptoms are a better guide than the labs.
  23. GNICK is seemingly ageless , but happy birthday anyway
  24. Here in Nevada, everything is "desert" something or other
  25. You did not mention the ranges the lab uses in grading her scores. This can make a lot of difference to the results. The numbers are not absolute - each lab establishes their own ranges, so it would be important to see where her numbers fall in the negative, equivocal and positive ranges. If you don't know, get a copy of the report.
