  2. Take a cooler and some lunch meat, shredded lettuce, head of lettuce and make lettuce wraps. If you have a microwave freeze things to take with you. If you access to a grill take aluminum foil and grill a steak and some veggies and some paper plates, gluten-free cereal and some bowels, crackers. Have fun
  3. I had Mellow Mushrooms Pizza last week in Birmingham, AL and it was great.
  4. My daughter was 10 when she was diagnosed. At first when we went to the grocery store she would throw fits an cry because the first thing she saw was the bakery. So I stopped taking her for a while. I talked to her at home about what we had to do. Eventually she started going back with me. She would read the labels for me because the font is so small that...
  5. Just also wanted to thank you Scott for this site. When my daughter was diagnosed at 10 (3 years ago) I had never heard of Gluten Free or Celiac Diease. Her Doctor told me about this forum and I have learned soooo much here.
  6. We just had the Asian Fried rice where you just add chicken tonight for dinner and it was great, family said it is just as good as P.F. Changs. The best part was I found it at Walmart for a $1.50 a box. Made two boxes and a couple of cut up chicken breast for $3.00 had a $6.00 dinner that fed 3 people with left overs. Thanks Betty Crocker

  19. It is so sad to hear that it takes so long for people to get diagnosed. My daughter was diagnosed in 2 weeks and had her endo. and was on a gluten free diet with in 4 weeks and 3 years later she has not had many problems with the diet, after the greiving process of course. My daughter was 10 when she had hers (three years ago) when we got home she called her girlfriends and told them the only thing she did not like about the test was they left her gown open in the front and she was mortified, modesty sure kicks in at a early age LOL. You will be fine. Let us know.
  21. The opposite is true for my family, when they get stressed them having a autoimune disease they get run down and catch every thing
  22. I have had the immpresion that Celiac is an autoimmune diseaes so you have to deal with Celiac and also having a autoimmune disease. My family has been gluten free for 3 years and we have Celiac under control, but it is the autoimmune that gets to us, stress will trigger a reaction so our bodies are comprimeised so we get every cold, virus that goes around...
