  1. Wow! I had no idea. Thank you all. Does anyone react to Dial soap, also? My dad and I couldn't use it b/c it made us itch terribly.
  2. What ingredient in Neosporin has gluten? Just wondered. Cut my finger recently, at school, and the nurse put some on the cut. I usually use Bacitracin, but the tube I have now is out of date, so used Neosporin for a few days at home. Had to stop b/c my hand was swelling up larger instead of smaller. I'd had a tetnus shot the same day also so it should have...
  3. Thank you! That looks great! I think we can make it vegan by just using egg replacer for the eggs.
  4. My friend has a brand new french pan that her son bought her. I have all of the above flours and even some Besan, or chickpea flour that I have never used. Most sources when I Googled chickpea flour said it is the same thing as garbanzo flour? so I could probably substitute it. So, if you were baking, how much corn flour, amaranth, tapioca, millet would...
  5. Would some of you wonderful bakers give me some advice about this recipe or possibly suggest another recipe for French bread? My friend, who is vegan, and I are going to get together and bake French bread. Her son bought her an expensive bread pan for just this purpose, and she's trying to go gluten-free, as well. For some reason, this recipe sounds...
  6. I like Rudi's cinnamon raisin in the frozen section of your health food store. I even use the cinnamon raisin to make regular sandwiches on, toasted. I think they have some online coupons out now. You can print off 2 for $1.00 off.
  7. I have never heard of washing chicken breasts before cooking them, but I do wash apples with dish detergent and then rinse them well before eating. Why do you wash chicken? Just curious. Does anyone else do this?
  8. If you think of it, please let us know. Thx. I always use light tasting olive oil, but am willing to try coconut oil if the end product really does taste better
  9. I added 3 oz. of cream cheese to my Betty Crocker's chocolate batter, and it came out, in a word, PERFECT!
  10. You'll lose faster with no alcoholic beverages and no coffee. Fortunately, those are easy for me to do without, but it's hard to break the coffee habit in the morning at first. The sugar part is a no-brainer, hehe. Can't do that.
  11. Eating only whole foods? I'm thinking that's gonna be me for the next two, three months as I have gained 7 lbs. in the last 6 mos. and my clothes are tight. For a short person, 7 lbs. is probably equal to 20 on a taller version:) Eating whole foods only is the only way I can take it off. No sugar, coffee, wine.
  12. This looks awesome! So, please share with us what flour mixture did you use and how much xanthan gum?
  13. My bad! These are gluten-free candy bars that you can purchase from GO MAX GO at Open Original Shared Link They do contain soy lecithin and unrefined cane sugar but no dairy.
  14. Here are some more recipes for homemade chocolate: Open Original Shared Link
  15. lynxgirl, I think these pancakes are delicious! If I'd had this recipe back then, I would have made them pre-glutenfree. Buckwheat tastes sort of like wheat to me, but better. I don't get that lead balloon feeling in my stomach after ingesting them the way I did with wheat.
  16. You'll get varying answers on this. I only buy Rudi's. I use it as toast with cream cheese and jam for breakfast or toast it for sandwiches for other meals.
  17. Pizza for me too Nature's Highlights Brown Rice Pizza Crust with homemade sauce, toppings, cheese.
  18. I have many favorite recipes that I got from this board. The first one that comes to mind is the blue ribbon coffeecake and oddly enough, the second was a suggestion to just use tomato paste mixed with water and fresh herbs for pizza sause. It's far superior to the canned pizza sauce that costs so much more. If anyone else has favorite "go to" recipes...
  19. I've been impressed that my greek oregano, thyme, and chives have weathered the drought just fine. Two blueberry bushes, not so well. Just hope they come back next year.
  20. Simona19 posted a bread recipe that everyone raved about some months back. I believe it did have yeast. You might do a search for that.
  21. Blueberry Coffeecake. No wait! That's what I had for brekkie
  22. Wow! This looks and sounds incredibly awesome. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Totally wonderfully great idea! Thank you.
