  1. Hi Burnsie, This may seem like a non sequiter but your avatar is making me go check Bahraini twitter of all things.
  2. I'd have to point 1st at the Pirate. Some pretty long ingred lists on some of those. The 'nutritional yeast' in some would get me, and the soy flour in the veggie one. Remember which flavor?
  3. I did trials of a few days multiple times too, but didn't notice anything and went back to it. I don't even remember exactly why I tried again but this time for 2 full wks. Probably had run out of things to try, again. Believe me, I was pretty surprised when around day 11 I started noticing stupendous mental changes. Ahhhhh looked up Depersonalization...
  4. Oh! Surprised to see that proprioception wasn't what I thought it was! Open Original Shared Link I thought the dream aspect was in being unsure of the reality, like during a dream suddenly having a "wait ...am I just dreaming?" thought, rather than a movement issue. Anyway Grodylocks, are you soy-free as well? Looks like you could be, from that list...
  5. I think you're referring to the spice, whereas GottaSki was talking about Bell Peppers etc. (Edit - hehe oops that's a lotta peppers .. ...was reminding me of having to try pepper-free, spice-free & how boring it was)
  6. Gotta love a positive attitude! More good news - everyone reading learned about the black seeds. Is mayo next or what?
  7. I'm one. DX'd as a toddler in the 60s & gluten-free until I was 5, when the Dr, following standard thought at the time, said I could then be on a normal diet BUT she did include the warning that it'd come back "when I was old". Guess I got old at 35. If 'celiac trigger' theories are correct maybe I go another decade or two if not for the trigger of...
  8. It's certainly not right to claim I misinterpreted when at the time I was replying to your post it still had "So, if you do not feel well taking them, do not take them. You are not being CC'ed from them." as the last 2 lines. Not only did Chad never say he thought it was cc, but he also never said he was considering taking them any more. Please...
  9. Hey Happy Bday!
  10. The diagnostic *potential* of endoscopy/biopsy (the aversion was to gluten, right? Not biopsy too as phrased) is the same whether the OP reglutens or not. The accuracy is affected but it's not at all the impossibility of "will NOT". Every time someone isn't already great after a month gluten-free, there are, imo, valid comments such as "it takes time for...
  11. That's fantastic missingno(wheat)! Glad they went ahead w/ the endoscopy despite neg blood. You'd been eating regular the whole time through testing, I take it?
  12. I don't always stick to only whole foods anymore but I would've counted pasta & simple cereals as whole when there are very few ingreds. Isn't TJoe gluten-free pasta just rice & water?
  13. He never said he thought it was cc. Why summarily dismiss two ppl's personal experiences w/ a product?
  14. So was yesterday a "second good day" or is that today? (Hopefully) Are you keeping a food/symptom journal to try to catch if some other foods are involved when symptoms come & go? (Somehow I now feel like eating some fruit)
  15. The original thread title was about Schar. As it was unjustly accusatory, the title was changed by moderators.
  16. Don't suppose you've heard of tiny Arcadia, in Manistee County, MI? Used to go near there every summer as a kid.
  17. Wow lotta new comments while I typed so unfuriously.
  18. I started researching celiac ~8-10 yrs ago. Many others commenting have long experience as well. I think your opinion of this forum & this site will change over time. Don't give up on us because of this disagreement over a 1man-society's misguided assertions. (I did prev show he's mixing cc worries w/ zein intolerances/allergies) CC (cross-contamination...
  19. It's recent but it doesn't say corn & rice are harming celiacs. It says corn & rice might get some wheat on 'em. I actually have a problem w/ corn myself. Not as severe as soy (or, of course wheat/barley/rye gluten) and more like non-organic tomatoes. It can get complicated but it doesn't mean that the average celiac should expect these problems...
  20. Looking through the GFS site I see the July 17 article claiming "gluten-free bread damages celiacs".
  21. Celiac & an actual gluten allergy are two different things involving different mechanisms. He's not talking about celiac at all. This discussion is, at its heart, just a misunderstanding about valid uses of the word gluten. Plant science gluten vs food science gluten. Corn gluten & rice gluten are valid terms in some circles, but only generate...
  22. That's the thing - it's not. The terminology is unfortunately context-dependent. In botanical science, grains have the same principal anatomical components. Three are bran, germ & gluten. In food science the word gluten means ONLY the gluten that's harmful to people like us. It's a pretty ridiculous way to define something, but that's the way it...
  23. Fantastic post Rachel! What a story. I bet it'll directly help some ppl too.
  24. Ahhh I didn't know that! Could come in very handy someday. Two days ago, I was momentarily SO excited to see a new (to me) "gluten-free" beer at my WhFds. But it's just another "de-glutened" barley beer. AAAARGH!! Brunehaut is the brewery & they make 2 "gluten-free" varieties using barley. Who wants to be the guinea pig? They do rate very...
