  1. Plenty of similar situations around here. Were the tests last yr blood tests? If you have the lab results, post them. If you don't have them, get them. They belong to you. Sucks that the prev gluten-free trial might've been shanghaid by the french fries. Takes a lot of effort at first to be certain everything's gluten-free. Sometimes it's best overall...
  2. Coffeemate also has a milk protein derivative - yes, insane for a "non-dairy" product HA! - called sodium caseinate. So, anyone thinking they're dairy-free w/ coffeemate is wrong, it's just lactose-free. I'd be bothered by both the soy & the casein.
  3. "Falsely" hoping? I was having daily multiple vertigo episodes before finally going 100% gluten-free and it's never happened again. You're not gluten-free yet? You may be amazed at how many things get better off gluten. Also I swear both my sight & hearing got better after 100% gluten-free.
  4. They could legally just say nothing at all. Companies like Conagra are lauded for a 'no hidden gluten' policy, which is what "no gluten-containing ingred used" basically means to me, since I'm going to read the ingred list anyway. I shopped gluten-free at TJs for years before the little g, I think many find it helpful & perfectly appropriate in this...
  5. Oops .. ..better to stick w/ legitimate news organizations.
  6. There's a separate diet coke that's also caffeine-free, w/ a vertical goldish ribbon on the label if I remember correctly. Re: the twitching, I sure wasn't preggo & never thought it serious, and it did go away. Not sure if it's related but was low on vit D when it was tested, but it wasn't at the same time as the fluttering & I was actually way...
  7. I've eaten that for years & never had a problem. Are you certain the sauce etc, colander, side dishes, were all gluten-free? I actually think TJs is doing the labeling right. This isn't their first iteration. I don't think there ever will be enough dedicated-gluten-free manufacturing facilities to produce everyone's gluten-free food in buildings...
  8. What kinds of foods are you eating? Oftentimes, whole unprocessed foods make a huge difference compared to a diet w/ a lot of processed foods, made from a long list of ingreds. It also makes it far easier to find which foods might be problematic. Lactose, casein (milk sugar & a milk protein) & soy issues are pretty common around here. Something...
  9. Had that too & don't know why. Well I think mine's similar, like a twitch that keeps going, instead of one or a few twitches. Maybe less motion than a twitch but going for from 30sec to a few minutes?
  10. Greetings Hellothere, Wish I could help w the test results. Do you know what will be done at the "functional medicine appointment in 3 weeks"? If not a celiac blood panel, I don't know if there'd be a purpose to more gluten. (Assuming if a endoscopy scheduled, you'd already know)
  11. So happy for you! It just never ceases to amaze me the variety of ailments that ppl see get better or go away just from going gluten-free. And still there are posts here all the time about someone's Dr dismissing celiac (or even lying about having done the tests?) if the patient isn't 100% classic GI symptoms. Your "I just figured it was the way...
  12. I wondered if this was the 'silliee' tom? HI there

It was nice seeing you posting on the sillies email thread and your nice note to Patti. I'm not on c.c anymore as i don't have celiac it seems. have microscopic colitis instead. HOpe you are doing well Tom.

Wondering who wrote this . ... ..and why doesn't it say?

  13. By the title I thought I'd be talking about a 'celiac trigger', but your celiac symptoms predated the parasites which led to the dx, if I read that right. Sounds like a good call (finally, right?) by somebody to test for celiac disease. I'm a little curious on the details of that, if you happen to know. PN(periph neuro) is pretty common around here...
  14. When I was sick every day for a long time, I seemed to never get a cold or flu though. Seen others here say the same, but I don't know how common that is.
  15. For one they don't make all the different beers on the same equipment. For all we know, Redbridge isn't even made in the same state as Mich. Sure they probably make Bud at most or every plant, but I've still never before heard of a Redbridge cc incident. Some are bothered by the corn in it & of course it's not exactly helpful that no ingredient list...
  16. Yipes you're right I can't find any sense in that at all. Could the nurse think there WAS a celiac dx? Is she reading the right chart? Aargh who knows . . .prob only explanation will have to come from Dr's office.
  17. Don't forget * Changes from recent 2wks gluten-free & reaction from 2 days gluten challenge. It's part of the medical history now. Good luck w/ the doc!
  18. Surprised the Dr didn't mention celiac. Hiatal hernia & everything else fit. 3 months is awful long before next medical iteration. Is it possible to get in for a blood draw for celiac tests before your new gluten-free diet makes the testing highly unreliable. The tests don't work right w/out the gluten. If the Dr doesn't consider celiac until after...
  19. For a few years in the 90s, I didn't know better & was thinking what I could "get away with". There's a lot more at stake than just the villi. Celiac can affect every system in the body. I think my health is affected to this day by that practice way back when. Symptoms can creep up so slowly they can be attributed to such non-alarming things as aging...
  20. Congrats Adalaide! Great to hear things working out.
  21. Phew! That's good to hear! There's enough to think about w/out ins issues on top of it.
  22. Edit: Now just a cottonpickin minute ya psilly Goose! That last one got edited WHILE I'm off reading the link that was there a minute ago! ( or I am goin nuts) Ok. ....some lines can be disregarded now... ****** She has health ins already. I think this Open Original Shared Link is what the OP was concerned about. "Executives of three of the nation...
