  1. Oh snap the Marathon Missus did it just 35 minutes into MY 1st of the month. I feel like declaring second first punch a thing. . . . ... ...flipflipphlip . ..can't find anything in the bylaws to support such a maneuOver . ..
  2. I know what you mean. Head-in-a-vise was one of the names I had for the headaches pre-gluten-free. (Ball-peen headache & pressure-cuff-helmet headache are more) And I too have characterized them not as daily headaches plural, but one looooonnnng headache lasting yrs. That said, it finally changed when besides gluten-free, I stopped dairy...
  3. Curious about this & the phrase "become immune to the lactaid pill", I clicked the link. The pill is just lactase & a probiotic. Most ppl w/ digestive issues should think about taking probiotics - or already be taking them, imho - whether lactose intolerant or not. P.S. Thought it strange that the label http://www.digestiveadvantage.com/images...
  4. I don't think she's throwing up from the tablet. If I were her I'd want to try true dairy-free for a couple weeks at a minimum. (Somehow casein can be in things called non-dairy like powdered coffee non-dairy creamer) Also, it could make sense if an "incredibly low lactase score" correlates to more villi damage indicating a more advanced case which...
  5. A 16yo will get gluten if she wants it. Does she not credit gluten-free w/ fewer GI issues? About a decade ago, I was 99% gluten-free & had auditory hallucinations every day. More like overhearing pointless things when no one around than thinking God told me to be President or some insidious Son of Sam type of commands from the neighbor's dog. It...
  6. How about calling the Dr's office to make sure that if the Dr has a cancellation before May 10, they'll move you up?
  7. You can put pix up @ flickr or similar free site then you have them at a web addr.
  8. I'm still gonna try whichever I didn't the 1st time. Let's split up 2 4packs into 2 of each? (Non-raspberry for me) Ok just checked & it was Off-Grid Pale Ale I had. Remembering now I was expecting to like it more than I did, imagining Sierra Nevada crossed w/ Fat Tire. Liked it more than New Grist anyway.
  9. I tried one of the 3. Not the raspberry one. It was pretty good but w/ a 4-pack costing more than a 6 of Redbridge, I'd rather have the Redbridge & occasionally splurge on Green's.
  10. ANTIHISTAMINE/DECONGESTANTS/COUGH/COLD Actifed Alavert (all forms) Allegra Allegra D Atarax Benadryl-all products Benzonatate (Pleva) Cetrizine (Mylan, Perrigo) Chlortrimeton 4 mg tabs Chlortrimeton 8mg and 12 mg extend tabs Chlortrimeton liquid Clarinex Clarinex D .... Bah the formatting didn't come thru. Each on its own line at the site. It's a long...
  11. Hi Wendy, There aren't many things that can be done to help endure - no surefire remedies anyway - but I hope you've been reading other threads because there are some things that ppl say helped. I never really did a gluten challenge, but I could suggest taking probiotics. I know ppl say "must eat gluten until day of tests", but they also say, when the...
  12. GOOOOD LUUUUCKKK!!!!!!!!!! Way to go Gnik!
  13. I was unwell despite 3.5 yrs gluten-free, then found soy was causing most of it. But going soy-free for just a few days or a week didn't make it apparent. It took a 2 week trial. I was pretty pissed since I could've known years earlier, but those soy-free trials just weren't long enough. Hope you find your answers.
  14. In the past I've used Open Original Shared Link Near the bottom are links for an alphabetical list, list by therapeutic category, PDFs etc.
  15. Hey Bunnie & Rachelle are back! (Ugh I keep slipping w/ brainfog etc but I'm mostly trying to keep up) Loved reading your seafaring tales Jess.
  16. This is a really good article. Don't let its skeptical opening (maybe middle too) keep you from reading through it all. Nice to see mainstream paper acknowledge points such as that most of the ppl resorting to such testing HAVE tried regular Drs etc & that current accepted medical practice basically failed them. It's not just goofy ppl somehow drawn...
  17. My first thought is that the Dr is sticking to the increasingly antiquated idea of a "gold standard" for celiac dx - like only severe damage proves it. Current research keeps showing that ppl should be & can be dx'd BEFORE the damage is highly visible & easily found. (Too many Drs don't even take enough biopsy samples) And that the blood test results...

    ARCHIVED Freaked Out

    Wait .. .what?
  19. Scott linked to new article on this. Open Original Shared Link It starts skeptically but does balance it out later. I did a 100something test years ago & while acknowledging that the results might be a little fuzzy, I thought it was worth it. Brought yeast to my attn for the first time.
  20. Ocracoke? They still make that? But seriously, I like the "Local townspeople tolerated his presence because they liked to buy the goods he stole" part. And the sandbars. Haha!
  21. Can't think of a single . .. ..piratesse? Pirette? Oh, that's almost the real name of the NCIS lab genius, but she's not my type. Cool pic Knic! Laminate lists are 10 now?
  22. Whoa! I've wondered whether others feel this. I call it "so hungry I could puke", tho that really makes no sense.
