  1. I use corn starch alot.
  2. I agree about the cross contamination issues causing problems. If the hamburger you cooked was not just beef but a pre-made pattie it could be a problem with additives. I have not researched ginger ale but I have found that some orange soda and root beer are not gluten free. Check the brand name and email the company about the ginger ale. My rule of thumb...
  3. I can't believe this place can't fix a gluten free meal. If you haven't called the place you need to give them a call. I just had dinner at an Italian place whose speciality is of course pasta. My meal was gluten free. I think one could go both ways on this. It would be nice as a father-daughter night out. I could go, not eat and enjoy myself but not...
  4. Sometimes you need a vacancy to find someone more caring. So happy for you.
  5. Let your guy know I am very proud of him. I hope the rest of him is as nice.
  6. Udis. You can eat this without toasting. It is wonderful and worth the price.
  7. I have not tried this but have used other recipes from this site. I figure the crust is not going to be crispy but I'm game to try it. Open Original Shared Link
  8. If I know ahead of time, I call to let them know I'll be eating at their restaurant and need to eat gluten free. If I walk in off the street, I have the waiter ask the chef what items on the menu can be made gluten free and hand them one of the gluten free dinning cards. I eat in the Twin Cities and in very small towns. This seems to work for both places...

  14. What brand of Mac and cheese is gluten, dairy and soy free that you are eating?
  15. Being new to gluten free eating it sounds like you have added something to what you are eating/drinking that has set you back. Check everything that goes into your mouth. Food, drinks, medications, vitamins, mints and do not forget to ask the person you are kissing to brush their teeth and rinse their mouth. You'd be surprised where gluten is hiding. Check...
  16. For skin problems, Check your personal care products for gluten in the form of wheat or oats. Dental items, hair care, everything. I think you will find something you are using has gluten in it. Anything that touches you can be a problem. Some people do not appear to be sensitive to gluten on their body. I am one who breaks out if I use a product that is...
  17. Trader Joes, Whole Foods and Fresh and Natural all have great sweets to fill your sweet tooth. Bittersweet Bakery makes good gluten free items too. All in the Twin Cities.
  18. Certainly would explain the stroke I had years ago. No known causes and no reason to have had one.
  19. Europe is much more advanced about celiac and gluten free eating than the USA. Go enjoy and be sure to report back here about what you find and places to eat. Son just returned from a week in Paris and a week in Germany. He absolutely loved Germany. Probably will not go back to Paris. Germany is so much better. Enjoy. Found this article: Open Original...
  20. Even if Great Harvest starts making gluten free yummy bread, I won't be buying it. All that poison flour hanging about their place would make me want to die. lol Now I'm dreaming of finding coupons for Udi's bread! That would be so nice.
  21. Just because your tests come back negative does not mean you do not have celiac disease. Celiac disease, gluten intolerant, wheat allergy, the best test is to eat some gluten. Get sick? Consider it the best positive results for the test. Remember to try this several times. Cross check what other ingredients were in what you ate. You could have problems...

Wednesday is senior day, 5% off is you are 55 or over. I'm glad I'm old!...
  23. I get sleepy within 30 minutes and it can last for several days. If I'm thinking I'm so tired I need a nap just to have the energy to nap I know I've been poisoned with gluten. I think we hear more about the intestinal problems because the other people are too tired to be on the forum.
  24. I must eat weird because no one can tell I'm eating gluten free. My stuff looks like real food. lol
