ARCHIVED Any Luck With Online Coupons
purple replied to gigantor98's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I didn't use online coupons but still had trouble. I received coupons in the mail from 2 well know companies and the store I took them to said they were online coupons and wouldn't take them. -
I made muffins with this Banana Choc Chip Bread recipe today: Open Original Shared Link I only made 1/2 a recipe to try it. I used 2 bananas, cornstarch for the arrowroot starch and sorghum for the rice flour. It made 9 muffins, baked about 20 minutes. Delicious!! Easy No gluten, eggs, soy, or dairy. Thank-you Karina for another...

ARCHIVED You May Already Know About The Mercury In Fillings...
purple replied to mr. moore's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
We found out my dd was gluten intolerant thru muscle testing. There is a thread on here about it, if anyone wants to google it. Dylan, you can PM Rachel, I am sure she would like to help you with any further questions. -
Oh, so sorry. You might stop a day or two until you feel better

Could be, we were not gluten-free when the oven broke so I don't know how gluten-free baking is in a big oven. I have a new plan to try for the next batch. Prebake the crust then put it on the rack after toppping is added. The crust edge turns out sooo yummy and it gets more heat and lots of air. I'm not frustrated but having fun making/baking and eating...

I will try the stone in the future. My oven broke so I am using a toaster oven. Thanks for the tips on the pizza stone/moisture. That makes sense. I have never used a stone before.

Should I use the egg replacer dry or beat it with water? I just made a mini BBQ chicken pizza and the results were a little better. This batch I used it dry to see if there is a difference. Next time I will try it mixed up. The pizza was sooo darn good (and I can have gluten). I am so happy to find a crust recipe we like. I am thinking of making bread sticks...

Oh yay! I am excited to try it again with the egg replacer! Thanks! I can taste now...my 2 dd's will be so happy! Carol has a similar recipe in her Cooking Free book but I haven't tried it yet and another one in Quick and Easy, is that the one you use?

Thanks, I will try the egg replacer

ARCHIVED What Protein To Feed A Vegan?
purple replied to one more mile's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Today I bagged up some trail mix for my gluten-free/vegan dd's lunch at school. I plan to bag up some for my other gluten-free dd to take to work so she can munch on it instead of popcorn, she said just fruit makes her more hungry. This is what I had on hand Raw, unsalted pumpkin seeds, shelled Raw, unsalted sunflower kernals Peanuts Unsalted mixed... -
I am having a doughy pizza crust problem with this recipe: Open Original Shared Link We love this recipe but the inside is doughy. I make 3 mini crusts with 1 recipe. They are chewy with crispy edges and sooo delicious. No- egg recipe! And EASY! I have tried several things so far: 1. prebaked longer/shorter time 2. prebaked, topped and...

ARCHIVED Gold Fish And Teddy Grahams
purple replied to mom2twoangels's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I am sorry they didn't work out so good. When I make them thicker then they are soft almost like cake. When I make them thin, they are hard. Play with it to get them "just right". The Special Dark Cocoa makes them "black". You may want to reduce the shortening by 1 or 2 T. also. -
I laugh about the oven thing too My dryer is broken (I do old fashioned "hang the clothes by the wood stove" thing) and my fridge doesn't stay cold enough either but we have one outside we use. If I didn't have a problem, I would never know God could/would fix them...in his timing. I am blessed with great health. I think my oven quit so I wouldn't bake...

ARCHIVED gluten-free Pie Crusts?
purple replied to churn's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Pie Crust Here is a thread on pie crusts: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/lofivers...php/t51373.html This one I have used many, many times for mini pot pies (just press into a jumbo muffin pan and top with a small crust that's been pressed or rolled out, makes 6) and it works great! I have never rolled it out for a big pie. I plan to when my gluten... -
ARCHIVED Wheat Allergy?
purple replied to Bridy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
So do you put anything on your armpits to help stop the itching? I wonder if there are more females than males allergic to wheat? I am sure the females would admit it and try to find out where as the males would postpone...hm...just thinking... -
Isn't that the truth! He is so faithful! We were broke this Christmas and so is our big oven. Our pastor brought us a 9lb. turkey that just fit into our little toaster oven and a gift card to Walmart. I got to use it last night and it was for $150!!! I hadn't been to the store in 29 days!!! What nice surprises. God is good...always...even when we don't understand...

ARCHIVED Symptoms
purple replied to Jan Gehrman's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have been monitioring my dd. (Her sis is gluten intolerant) She has been a vegan for 5 months so no dairy (99%). She's been mostly gluten-free maybe 80%. On Dec. 31 she had gluten pie crust and Ritz crackers. The next day her keratosis pilaris flared up on her upper arms (bumpy hard pimples that don't itch). She had pimply bumps on her head during the summer... -
ARCHIVED You May Already Know About The Mercury In Fillings...
purple replied to mr. moore's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
It is sad. People are stubborn and don't want to think outside the box. But...when they see your health change, something will "click" with them. You may not have them on your side now but you have all of us on your side. We understand esp. the ones that have gone thru the similar things you have gone thru. It takes time and patience. We live in a fast pace... -
ARCHIVED Looking For 3 Things
purple replied to purple's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
mm...thanks, they all sound good! I copied Karina's choc chip banana bread last night and as soon as I get some bananas I want to try it. I have eyed those scones before but have never tried them...they look so delish! Thanks Sweetfudge! -
Well said, I feel so sorry for your son! Such a waste of time, money and so much suffering...all for nothing. I hate the dentists drill. Maybe I should try the 10 minutes thing. I thought about trying Op for a 2 or 3 days a month so as not to move the mercury around much at a time. I would rather they fall out too than to be drilled and its free removal...

ARCHIVED What Is Your Favorite Pre-gluten-free Food?
purple replied to ang1e0251's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Me too...I tried it twice I think, my gluten-free dd doesn't live at home, so I never made it again. It was good, just like french bread. -
ARCHIVED Brain Fog, Irritability, B12, Mercury
purple replied to Siga's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I don't eat near enough raw food but I would like to. Our nearest Walmart or big shopping store is an hour away so we eat lots of raw the first week then have to wait a week. I shop about every 2-3 weeks. This month we had so much snow, its been 4 weeks since I got to go shopping I know cooking kills the enzymes but does freezing? Like frozen veggies?... -

Here is a huge list of symptoms: Open Original Shared Link Gee...I have some of those less obvious things and didn't know it. -
Ali, I just read that you have many amalgams. IMO opinion, I don't think its safe to do OP with amalgams, it could make matters worse. I don't have the links but if I were you I would stop and research it if you haven't already.
