  1. Thanks for your research, Rachel! I started checking into it last year and came to the same conclusion. I have lots of amalgams. I am still interested in learning more. My dd wants to try it. I told her after everyones month is over. She doesn't have any fillings...if only my mom made sure I brushed my teeth when I was little...hm Plus I pretended to brush...
  2. Try this one: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=52700 then go here for some good ideas: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=44468
  3. We had 11" of recent snow Christmas eve morning. I cooked all day, while it snowed, so food was all done...no cooking on Christmas..YAY! I measured the new snow on Christmas morning and we got a new 14" making it 2' now. I spent almost 3 hours on Christmas...pushing, pulling and shoveling snow while my dh was plowing it. Sure glad I didn't have to cook...
  4. Cherry crisp or blueberry crisp. Or apple crumble: Open Original Shared Link I used ground almonds in this. Serve with df ice cream if desired or whipped coconut milk...I saw a recipe for it on here somewhere. I made apple crisp in a stainless steel pan before and the next day a few apple bits were bluish. I suggest a glass dish.
  5. It also helps to have a small shovel (my dh has one in his snow mobile) and a cheap bag of cat litter. Oops, I see Jestgar already said that.
  6. sure sounds yummy and easy, my dd would like the blueberry filling and easy enuff to make herself.
  7. I would buy her a book like gluten-free for dummies and just leave it at her house. Then if she takes a notion she has it to look at. Don't say anything when you talk to her about the book, let her come to you first.
  8. Thanks for your input!
  9. Caution! I went to a women's Christmas party last night. A gal told us that she had made a pumpkin roll to bring but had to trash it. She dampened the towel and the cake was a soggy, gooey mess. So don't wet the towel!
  10. I don't know for sure about chinese take out. My dd (20) is not a Celiac (yet anyway). She eats safely at Mexican, Chinese (gluten can be in the soy sauce) places and gets meat from Ihop (sounds crazy to me). It depends on the restaurant and if you are senstive (there can be unseen damage). She gets ice cream and fries at other places and never gets a reaction...
  11. When you think of gluten-free Rice Chex...you become a non-gluten glutton I sent my dh to the store and they were out but I have 6 boxes on my list for next time. I want to use those $3 coupons and stash the extra coupons for later. Plus they are on sale this time of year. YIPPEE!!
  12. This college link can help with the food: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=50721 or these: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=51685 https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=53674 Milk alternatives: rice, almond, hemp, hazelnut, soy and coconut milk (I don't know how coconut is for drinking...
  13. AliB, thanks for posting this and all the other info. I am sure it helps many and is an eye opener too. A little bit of mold can eat thru an entire hay stack. (I have been dealing with it this year) A little bit of yeast can off set the whole body.
  14. There can be msg and gluten in Chinese food or chicken broth, etc. You are not crazy but your body is not right. Have you ever tried a good natural health doctor? If you find a good one they can tell you things that an md may never diagnose. You might check into it. Its more expensive up front but may save you much money, time and health in the long run....
  15. Plz keep posting about the filling. So sorry about the toothache. I have many fillings so I don't want to try it if they are going to fall out. That would be a faster way but maybe not safe, plus I don't have the $ to refill them Thanks!
  16. You are always so funny...I enjoy reading your posts. I agree with that SURPRISED bit
  17. If you need chocolate cream cheese frosting, here is the one from Rissaroo and it is soooo yummy! https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=48238
  18. I think making gingerbread "people" cookies would be fun for a switch. Or cut your recipe in 1/2, add in your other flours to make 3 1/2 cups and make mini houses. You can frost them to a milk carton or other container if need be.
  19. Very funny/cute "cheer", thanks!
  20. Cute pics...who had more fun...you or your dog
  21. Who has it? Who doesn't? Who wants more? Who wants it to stop? How much do you have? Any great, difficult, scary, memories you want to share??? We have about 8" of new snow since yesterday and the weather man says it's going to snow all week. I think we got the storm that Rachelle and Juliebove just got in Washington. I'm in Idaho. Last year my neighbor...
  22. I believe I saw it on a natural health doctor show on T.V. I won't say the name b/c I am not positive which one. They said something in the diet pop reacts with the pepperoni and makes consuming them many, many times worse than if consuming them at different times.
  23. Yep...what RiceGuy said. If we are not sick, we won't go to the doc, we won't get misdiagnosed, we won't take their pharmaceuticals, we won't get worse, we won't pay them, and they won't get our money. The whole conspiracy thing is more huge then most people know. I started learning about it all by researching one thing "ASPARTAME"! It all points to...
  24. How about the trunk of your car or the neighbor's house??
  25. About 10 yrs ago, my dh woke me up in the night and said he heard chewing in his ear. He said it was a mouse. I said yeah right. No really, get the flashlite. I did and shined it at my dh and there was a mouse on his shoulder. I flipped the light on and he grabbed the BB gun and shot the intruder as he tried to run away along the wall. My dh is a good shot...
