  1. Can you have Jell-O? Do you have an ice cream maker? I have a recipe for ice cream using Jell-O or pudding. How about smoothies? Fruit, juice or any milk, ice. Google smoothies, pudding and dairy free ice cream on here, there are lots of recipes. How about guacamole? Not sweet but really creamy. assorted ice cream Open Original Shared Link...
  2. Most of the time I use 1/2 potato and 1/2 corn starches only b/c cornstarch I can get at the grocery store and its cheaper. For instance the sorghum blend: 1 1/2 cups sorghum 1 1/2 cups potato or corn starches 1 cup tapioca I use 3/4 cup potato and 3/4 cup corn starches for the 1 1/2 cups listed starches: potato=adds light, airy texture...
  3. When I had to explain it all to my mom, I just used the word flour. She didn't know there were gluten-free flours but she understood-anything made with flour. Then I explained the types of flours that were ok to eat. When I was a kid everyone ate wheat bread (the dark stuff) but I ate white only
  4. Did you know that donuts are one of the worst foods you can eat, for anyone, period. Next time (If there is one) choose something else like Subway or pizza or a sandwich. I hope you don't get affected badly but then you might be more tempted to try it again??? I hope you never get tempted again and give in. I wish you good health!
  5. Thanks for posting. I was wondering what your flour mix is. Do you use this for everything adding x-gum and b. soda/powder in place of Pamela's mix? Thanks oops, I just read universally
  6. DELICIOUS! Sooo yummy! Thanks RissaRoo! I divided the recipe in 1/2 and made 1/2 dairy free and egg free using vegan margarine and egg replacer w/o choc chips. The other 1/2 just like the recipe. I used sorghum flour blend with the tapioca and and potato starches in place of flours posted. I did one dumb thing. I wanted to use up the pumpkin I had...
  7. Oh goody...I saved that recipe link on my favorites about a month ago but haven't tried them yet. I tried a different recipe instead that sounded easier...they made tastey biscuits but not rolls. I am so glad you made them and that they are so good Thanks!
  8. Not sure about your sugar/health problem but some subs for sugar depending on the recipe can be: unsweetened applesauce pureed banana, peaches, berries, pears or apricots pure maple syrup agave nectar honey evaporated cane juice date syrup/sugar stevia xylitol molasses pineapple, apple juice you can google to see what could work for you the...
  9. Hi...I just found that recipe, it would work great for a party...over-the-hill, April Fool's...a fun joke for someone to play My dh caught a rattlesnake (then froze it) about 10 years ago that he plays pranks with...that darn thing falls out of the freezer sometimes...I almost threw it away once but I knew I'd be in trouble if I did!
  10. No-Bake TWINKIES...mmm Here is a recipe for a great laugh Open Original Shared Link
  11. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
  12. As for pasta you can buy corn and quinoa. Walmart has corn spaghetti and its good. Here is a good bread recipe w/o those flours you can't have. Its really good and easy. I make it every week. Open Original Shared Link
  13. As for colic, I never breast fed my 2nd dd and she had colic but it wasn't too bad like some babies. I believe it was caused by her immunizations. If I had to do it over she would never have gotten ANY shots. I know of a family with 7 kids and none had shots and none ever get sick, not even a cold. They were all delivered at home except a set of twins. They...
  14. I never sift...but if you scoop the flour you can get too much (like packed brown sugar is more than spooned in) Its wise to whisk the flour in your container and then spoon it into the measuring cup. If you forget, some things will be ok and some things may need a bit more water/liquid. With yeast breads I found out not to scoop b/c the batter was too dry...
  15. I am not crazy about rice flour so I mainly use the sorghum mix 1 1/2 cups sorghum 1 1/2 cups potato starch or corn starch 1 cup tapioca flour
  16. You are welcome! Anything to help make life easier! One thing I like to do with my cooked ground beef is to drain off the fat into a can (like the refried bean can, then toss it) or a bowl (wipe out with a paper towel after it hardens) then rinse the meat in a colander. Put the meat back into the pan and then add the seasonings. It gets rid of all that...
  17. Sounds healthy to me! So glad you enjoyed them
  18. I had to try the choc pudding recipe above for my dd. Here is about what I did: 4 oz. firm tofu 1 T. coconut milk (needed to use it up) 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 cup baking cocoa 2 T. agave necter (could use a bit more) (I stirred in the 3rd T. after it chilled and it was just right) 1/4 cup or so rice milk adding 1 T. at a time Blend...
  19. Just in case you don't hear from anyone before you go shopping, I would say yes from what all I have read. My disclaimer: I have only used Pamela's 3 or 4 times. Also I would leave out the baking powder, soda and salt too b/c Pam's has it already, you don't want your cookies too salty
  20. Wow I was going to make lasagna and forgot I had tofu for it (DUH), thanks for reminding me too! (never bought it before) and I was wondering how to make pudding and if it was good. THANKS for the info! So I did a mini search just now and found this: Open Original Shared Link its for chocolate pudding This too: Open Original Shared Link...
  21. thanks, i will try it
  22. You can make bbq chicken pizza and you don't need cheese. I put cooked and mashed (with a fork) sweet potatoes in enchiladas and didn't use cheese, they were great. I am making lasagna this week with mashed potatoes. Actually to find an alternative to cheese could be healthier anyway. We just tried "Follow Your Heart" cheese, its very pretty on top and...
  23. Same as RissaRoo...whatcha do about the eggs? Thanks
  24. This is an amazing from "scratch" cake: One Bowl Chocolate Cake (read all the comments too!) Open Original Shared Link I add 3/4 cup of choc. or p.b. chips. Any gluten-free baking cocoa but if you use Hershey's Special Dark, it is a very dark cake...yummy. I tried it with Featherlite rice flour mix and Carol's sorghum flour mix. Top with chocolate...
  25. I thought about using some ground nuts but not the oats. That would be perfect for a pie crust...THANKS! I have 1/2 cup of Pamela's left so that would be a good way to use it up with 1/2 a recipe. And some granny apples..mmm Sounds like apple crisp topping Thanks for your tips too!
